**Cait Sidhe’s Review of Twist of Fate**
Twist of Fate is a second chance romance and you know what that means! That’s right! It’s my favorite romance subgenre to review! Second chance romances just give me all the feels. There’s no worry of “insta-love” and there’s always a great backstory on why it didn’t work out the first time around. I think it satisfies my wish for that “meant-to-be” feeling for two characters to work it out amidst the chaos of their pasts.
This novella follows Daisy and Diego, and of course, their love didn’t work out for them so much back then. Now they are thrown together when Diego’s estranged brother calls him back home to bear witness to the union of his marriage to Tyler. Turns out that Daisy and Rocco have not only stayed in touch, they are great friends, so who else should Rocco turn to for his wedding planning but Daisy. Not only do Daisy and Diego have a battered past that they need to move beyond, so do Diego and his brother. There’s a lot of past hurts and heartache that need to become water under the bridge if any of them can have a future.
One thing Twist of Fate doesn’t shirk on is the heat. There’s plenty of explosive chemistry between these two! They may not be able to communicate well but their bodies carry on a conversation just fine without them. Even when they are arguing, they still are focused on the attraction between them, which is probably why they (finally) learn to shut up and listen!
This novella goes far beyond passion and a good time. There’s a good shot of family and heart as well. Diego and Rocco haven’t spoken to each other in years and they have a lot to work through as well. Rocco walked out on them after their father had a stroke and left Diego holding the bag. As soon as Rocco came back for the funeral, Diego returned the favor! These two have luckily both grown up a lot in 10 years, although true to sibling relationships, they can’t help but have some of that good-natured picking. Like when Rocco asked Diego to make sure that he didn’t end up with some “frilly” wedding cake, and Diego agreed to every frou-frou choice that Daisy suggested!
As with a lot of second chance romances, there’s a lot of miscommunications and misunderstandings. These two have plenty of reasons that they are drawn back to each other again and you have to pick up a copy to find out just why!
