From New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting comes a new romance about trading secrets, breaking the rules, and playing for keeps.

My name is Ryan Kingston, and I’m a rule follower. I’ve never been in a fistfight. I always obey the speed limit. I don’t get drunk, and I definitely don’t pick up random women at bars.

Except the night I found out that my whole existence has been a lie.

I got drunk. And picked up a stranger.

Her name was Queenie, and she was everything I’m not: reckless, impulsive, and chaotic. We did shots and traded secrets. And ended up naked at my place.

She left me a thank-you note in the morning and her panties as a parting gift. But no way to contact her.

Six weeks later I’m sitting in the first official team meeting of the season, and there she is. I neglected to mention that I’m the goalie for Seattle’s NHL team.

And Queenie? Turns out she’s the general manager’s daughter.

Fly Girl’s Review:

OMG, this is so far my favorite Helena Hunting romance. This couple is so cute and hot it makes my heart jump!! Total opposites attract which I love. My husband and I are an opposites attract couple. Not sure how we’ve made it 20 years, but we have. Anyway, this couple is darling. She is a total mess, and he is so put together on the outside it makes you wonder how they are going to get a long.

She makes their shenanigans so funny I laughed out loud. Ryan gets himself into so much trouble because he is desperate to see Queenie, while she is trying not to wallow in self pity at the utter disaster she’s made her life. I mean she does live with Daddy. But Ryan can’t be deterred by Queenie’s objections to a relationship and he fights dirty. I mean he is a hockey player what did you expect.

As these two get deeper into one another, they have to contend with rivalries, families, and of course her dad-his boss. If that didn’t make things hard enough then they have to figure out how hot mess is going to work with totally put together. Both end up having to give up a little to make it work, but we get a Happily Ever After in the end.

This is a true couple I can get behind. The issues they haven’t aren’t something of just the rich or the famous, they are issues everyday people deal with. For instance, how many of us have friends who either have moved back in with their parents or have their kids back with them? I mean this is the era of COVID and high unemployment, not to mention high student loan debt. Back to the characters though. Helena does an amazing job of keeping it real. For that reason and all the shenanigans, I’m giving this a 5 of 5 score. Too bad I read it in 2020 or it might have made my Top 10 List.
