Fly Girl’s Review:
So this is the first time I’ve read anything by Stacy Finz. I have to say I was impressed. As you’ll see from my propeller rating in a few paragraphs, or you can just skip to the end if you are impatient. This one starts out funny as hell. I don’t want to spoil it, so I’ll just say it involves a Port-a-Potty or as some call them a Port-A-John.
There are lots of sweet moments between TJ and Deb while they navigate their intense attraction and unrequited teenage love. Unfortunately TJ lets his little brother’s lust for Deb stop him from making his move sooner. Good on Deb though she doesn’t let that influence him for long. She follows her own desires and doesn’t apologize for going after TJ. Both characters are strong in their own right, but need help from each other to solve their own issues. It’s this balance that Stacy writes so well. There is no one person as the Alpha in their relationship. It was refreshing to read. There also was no fight against what they felt once they were together, it was more of a fight about how to disclose their relationship to their family and friends. Oh, and they had to admit their love to one another; which was an, “I don’t want to be the first to say it,” issue.
The complexity of all the characters in the book was wonderful. She really brought to life the continued romances from the previous books, but didn’t do it in a way you felt you just had to have read them before this one. Ok, simply written, she did a great job making this a standalone in the series. Also, she gives you a glimpse into the next book in the series about the youngest of the clan, which I can’t wait to see.
That one, Love You, comes out in July.
Because of the complexity of the characters, it left me feeling good all around, and not really wanting more, I’m giving this 5 of 5 propellers. I will most definitely have her on my auto buy list. She is a great story teller. Stacy, I can’t wait for Love You to come out and I hope I’ll be just as privileged to give it a Release Day Review as well. I’m so glad I answered the random email from you all those months ago. I hope we see more from you.
