Want You

Check out Stacy Finz’s newest release in The Garner Brothers series…Want You!!!

The smart and sexy Garner brothers have turned Glory Junction into California’s hottest extreme sports town—and a thrilling adventure of the heart is always part of the deal . . .

The savvy CEO behind his family’s outdoor sporting empire, TJ Garner has his choice of women. But the only one he wants is way out of bounds. Deb Bennett has been his brother Win’s on and off girl since they were teenagers. And Deb’s still waiting for Win to quit fooling around and realize she’s The One . . .

Deb carves the ski slopes and rides the rapids like a champion—it’s getting her every day life in order that’s the real challenge. When she turns to Win’s big brother for financial advice, TJ spontaneously offers the

hard-working waitress an executive job at Garner Adventure. To Deb’s surprise, the job is a blast—and so is working for TJ. She always knew he was a heartthrob, just like all the Garners, but he’s charming and attentive too. Of course, given the choice between him and Win there’s no contest—or is there? . . .

Fly Girl’s Review:

So this is the first time I’ve read anything by Stacy Finz.  I have to say I was impressed.  As you’ll see from my propeller rating in a few paragraphs, or you can just skip to the end if you are impatient.  This one starts out funny as hell.  I don’t want to spoil it, so I’ll just say it involves a Port-a-Potty or as some call them a Port-A-John.

There are lots of sweet moments between TJ and Deb while they navigate their intense attraction and unrequited teenage love.  Unfortunately TJ lets his little brother’s lust for Deb stop him from making his move sooner.  Good on Deb though she doesn’t let that influence him for long.  She follows her own desires and doesn’t apologize for going after TJ.  Both characters are strong in their own right, but need help from each other to solve their own issues.  It’s this balance that Stacy writes so well.  There is no one person as the Alpha in their relationship.  It was refreshing to read.  There also was no fight against what they felt once they were together, it was more of a fight about how to disclose their relationship to their family and friends.  Oh, and they had to admit their love to one another; which was an, “I don’t want to be the first to say it,” issue.

The complexity of all the characters in the book was wonderful.  She really brought to life the continued romances from the previous books, but didn’t do it in a way you felt you just had to have read them before this one.  Ok, simply written, she did a great job making this a standalone in the series.    Also, she gives you a glimpse into the next book in the series about the youngest of the clan, which I can’t wait to see.

That one, Love You, comes out in July.

Because of the complexity of the characters, it left me feeling good all around, and not really wanting more, I’m giving this 5 of 5 propellers.  I will most definitely have her on my auto buy list.  She is a great story teller.  Stacy, I can’t wait for Love You to come out and I hope I’ll be just as privileged to give it a Release Day Review as well.  I’m so glad I answered the random email from you all those months ago.  I hope we see more from you.

Stacy Finz is an award-winning journalist. After more than seventeen years covering notorious serial killers, naked-tractor-driving farmers, fanatical foodies, aging rock stars and weird Western towns for the San Francisco Chronicle, she figured she finally had enough material to launch a career writing fiction. In 2012 she won the Daphne du Maurier Award for unpublished single-title mystery/suspense. She lives in Berkeley, California with her husband.

Personal Trivia:

I only like corn when it’s still on the cob. Won’t eat it otherwise.

When I was 12, my family moved to a small almond farm in Northern California. My sister, brother and I had to ride the whole way from Southern California in the back of a truck with at least eleven goats. If that wasn’t insulting enough, our parents failed to tell us that our new home didn’t have indoor plumbing. That’s right, an outhouse!

My first paying newspaper job was at the Back Country Trader. When I quit, I left a not-so-nice note that contained the “F” word and tried to beat a hasty retreat. But my car wouldn’t start and I had to go back inside to use the phone. Awkward.

I won $200 on a penny slot machine in Reno.

When I lived in Quentin Tarantino’s old apartment in West Hollywood, George Clooney once parked in my space. This is not a lie.

I own fifteen pairs of cowboy boots.

Currently, I don’t have any pets.

I sort of have road-rage issues.
