This is a story full of emotions you didn’t realize could be written and felt! There is hope, love, determination, faithfulness, heartbreak, guilt, friendship, lies, something more, trouble, courage, strength, hero/heroines and amazing beginnings!! Every word had me hooked and needing to read what happens next. The journey the characters go through is one ride you won’t forget and will almost feel like your intruding on them and their privacy they so deserve. Music has always been a part of my life and to see it expressed this way is heart warming. There is a connection you make during this book that is indescribable and incredible at the same time. I won’t lie, there was a point I had to put the book down and breath for I feared what would happen next. I was scared to pick the book back up and see where it was going. I AM SO GLAD I DID!! Yes it was a roller coaster ride that I wasn’t sure I could handle and yet I am so thrilled to have been a part of it.
Part of the amazingness of this book is the collaboration Colleen Hoover did with musician Griffin Peterson. The music they created to accompany the book makes the feels that much more. Each word sung touches you because you know where the lyrics came from and what they were feeling. It makes the experience of reading this book over the top and one I would say is worth having over and over.
(You can purchase the album to accompany the book or listen to it at http://www.maybesomedaysoundtrack.com for free! And get some extras as well.)
The messages and lessons they learn throughout the book are extremely heart felt and worth keeping with you in your everyday relationships.

“People don’t get to choose who they fall in love with. They only get to choose who they stay in love with.”
“Sometimes in life, we need a few bad days in order to keep the good ones in perspective”
“She’s the right choice. The only choice”
“If there are two people in this world capable of finding a way to love each other, it’s us”

And those are just a few of the feels you experience in this book! Please do your self a favor and stop what you are doing and pick up this book today!! You will be so happy you did!! Enjoy!!

Tempting Her Best Friend by Gina L. Maxwell

HOT! HOT! HOT! Gina has created an amazing weekend get away with two spectacular characters and sprinkled the flare of Vegas on top! Best Friends since childhood, both denying what they want and succumbing to fears that have followed them all their lives, only the vibrant city of Vegas can bring out the truth! Throw in Tarzan, Elvis, and Marilyn greatness can only be achieved! This is a fantastic book and full of laughs and smiles that make reading it so enjoyable!! Especially with lines like these:

He felt like the driest of deserts and she the rarest of summer

Baby, we’ve been married since I was eight and you were six and I punched Bobby Fletcher for making fun of you, and you looked at me like I’d slayed all your dragons, making me feel ten feet tall.

It’s love. You’re either in it, or you aren’t. If you are, then it’s as simple as getting what you put into it. And I plan on putting everything I have and more into this thing.

And my favorite:

Honey, as far as you’re concerned, this is Oz, and I’m the mother****ing Wizard

So wether you are looking for a new book, needing something to get over a book hangover, or just need a great book, read Tempting Her Best Friend!!

I was given an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review, even though I had already pre-ordered this story. Get this story…you won’t be sorry.

Colleen Hoover’s Hopeless, Losing Hope, and Finding Cinderella

These were the first books I read by Colleen Hoover and WOW! I now want to read everything written by her, even her grocery list. Hopeless is Sky’s point of view of the story, Losing Hope is Holder’s point of view or the same story and Finding Cinderella is Daniel’s, Holder’s best friend, story.

First let me tell you about Hopeless and Losing Hope. While they are the same story, the different point of views are awesome to be able to see what each character goes through. When you are reading Hopeless and Losing Hope you are sucked into the characters world and really feel what they are going through. As a mom myself I would love to not allow modern technology into my children’s life the way Sky is raised. (My kids and husband would not be happy about it at all!) I think this is what makes Sky’s and Holder’s relationship so perfect. It’s not jaded by modern technology and gossip. Sky has also been home schooled her whole life and convinces her mom to let her attend public school for her senior year before she goes to college and faces the real world. Sky is a little lost but not concerned with what others think and fast makes friends with what are considered the outsiders. Holder has major self and family ‘issues’ (I don’t like this word to describe what Holder goes through because it is SO much more than an issue, but for lack of a better word for now issues will have to do) and at first thinks Sky will help them. Then he wishes for her to not be the answer for the issues. Sky and Holder take you on an emotional roller coaster ride that even though you don’t want to read the same story twice you NEED to know what was going through Holder’s head the whole time. Holder has such commitment to those close in his life you instantly love his character.  The literal jaw dropping moment in the book almost constitutes this book as a freezer book and have a box of tissues nearby!

Finding Cinderella takes place sort of during and after Hopeless and Losing Hope. Daniel is Holder’s best friend and you get to see him in a jovial way. Daniel and his family make me laugh and I can only hope my son thinks we are this comedic when he is a teenager and dating.  He for the most is going through high school like any one testing the waters. When he meets Sky’s best friend, Six and warned to stay away he can’t help but ask her out. I love the way Daniel and Six interact and make you smile through the whole book. Yes there is the turning point with the audible gasp and hand covering your mouth and saying how did that just happen, but there are more laughs in this book than gasp. My favorite part comes after the audible gasp and hand over mouth moment, in the cafeteria. (I do not want to give any spoilers away but this part and how Daniel and Sky react is my favorite). This book is free in Ebook edition and is how I was introduced to Colleen Hoover’s amazing writing and Sky and Holder’s story. But if you find yourself a copy in print grab it!! There is an epilogue at the end that ties up all three stories a and is worth adding it to your book shelf!!

***Colleen Hoover just posted this amazing 5000 word epilogue is available on wattpad now!!***

If you have not been introduced to Colleen Hoover and her wonderful words then pick up these three books and enjoy the ride!

The Vincent Boys/Brothers extended and uncut version by Abbi Glines

I didn’t think it was possible for Abbi Glines to create a character I would like, much less love, as much as I do Rush, but Beau Vincent is right there next to Rush and possibly a little ahead. The Vincent Boys/Brothers story brings you back to the time you had to make hard decisions, from family to love to life altering and whose side to choose. These two books tell the story of Sawyer and Beau Vincent and them growing up together with their best friend Ashton, and her cousin Lana. The books swap back and forth between Beau, Ashton, Sawyer, and Lana. I like the different points of view throughout a story so you can see a wider aspect of what’s going on and see the other characters reactions.  Beau’s loyalty to Sawyer is unwavering and strong that you never question his decisions.  I was not a huge fan of Sawyer at first. He seemed very needy and self conscious instead of caring for others. He made up for it in the end, but didn’t compare to Beau, he was a hit right away. I believe in Ashton’s character a lot because, I think many girls go through what she does in one way or another. She has to make a hard decision that will effect many others than just herself.  Lana is the shy girl that you never really know what is going with her.  Her character is strong in so many ways that even she doesn’t realize it.  Both female characters are strong role models for how they stand up for themselves and care immensely for everyone around them.  Abbi Glines does amazing with each character’s reaction to the obstacles they face, then grow from each situation and become even stronger characters.

A must read from the amazing collections of author Abbi Glines!

A Lick of Flame pulls you into a world with amazing descriptions. A. D. Marrow use of words is a true gift. To create a world that isn’t our own and make everything believable and visual is true talent. The devotion the Kill Devil Crew has to their cause and each other is great. There is anticipation waiting to see what happens next and jaw dropping moments when you found things do happen. You will hold your breath and hope for each chapter to unfold in a good way. The inner conflict Dane must face is one we all face at some point in our life and have to make the hard decision. I love the support each Kill Devil member has for each other. Even though they are friends bound together by a choice made they stick with each other and have full support of the other. If you are looking for a new book and something different from what you have been reading I suggest A Lick of Flame.

The Hot Corner Review

Brilliant page turner! Amy Noelle has done it again! First off, I am always excited to read a book by Amy Noelle. She has a way to draw you in and make you forget your surroundings (and had my children not needed supervision I wouldn’t have put it down until I finished it.). Her work is full of captivating details in every chapter. From the moment I read the first page, I was hooked on the storyline. The conversations and characters are real and love able, and have a way of making you feel as if you are there. Dani and Brad have to overcome their past for different reasons and learn to live with that past today. The journey they go through to get there has you eager to turn each page and silently cheer them on to take the next step. Both Brad and Dani’s friends are refreshing and hilarious in the way they help guide them through their past and into the future. Throughout the book you grow more attached to them and just want everything to work out. You want to jump into the book and make them see what is happening and has happened. The baseball lingo is perfect for the sport and non sport fan, and Dodger fans will be jumping for joy throughout the book. The roller coaster of emotions you go through reading this book is exhilarating and full of laughs, accompanied by a few lows, with the highs outweighing the lows, and ending with a heart racing smile on your face (and possibly wanting to watch every Dodgers game from now on.) Thanks again Amy for giving us amazing characters to add to our read over and over again pile! I loved this book!!
