NICUnurse’s Review of Bribed by Dr. Rebecca Sharp

Bribed is the second book in the sexy spinoff of Dr. Rebecca Sharp’s Carmel Cove, Covington Security. For Carmel Cove fans, this is a bit of a return to the series. For new readers, you can absolutely start from this book and enjoy this new series without missing a beat, but I highly recommend book one, Betrayed.

 

As an avid romantic suspense lover for many, many years, Bribed hit all the high points. The pace didn’t lag, the plot development was good, and the chemistry between our hero and heroine is there from the beginning, even if they try to tamp it down and hide it beneath layers of mistrust. The plot was well thought out and just intricate enough that I didn’t figure out all of the ins and outs before the big reveal. And as a once rabid BSB fan myself, I couldn’t fault Dante for his love of their music. 

 

I’ve seen a lot of growth in this author’s writing since I found Tequila, the first book of hers that I ever read, and I’m definitely looking forward to what’s next for the Covington Security guys and our Carmel Cove friends.

 

Fans of Dr. Rebecca sharp will not be disappointed by this story, and new readers will be drawn in and hooked from page one. If you like contemporary romantic suspense books with a strong heroine who is no shrinking violet who overcomes enormous and seemingly insurmountable challenges and a tough, stubborn hero with a squishy heart where they go from not-quite enemies to friends to lovers, this is one book you’re going to want to dive into right away.

She enjoys working in her practice with her father as well as letting her creativity run free as an author. Growing up she’s always loved a good love story and finally decided to give writing one of her own a go.

After graduating with her doctoral degree, she now enjoys spending that thing called free time traveling with her husband, cooking, and knitting.
