Hot Historical Western Romance…

Twenty-year-old Jenny Harper has been in love with Heath Jackson since the day she saw him leap from a galloping horse to save an old woman when she was eleven years old. Over the years, Jenny has watched the women swarm around Heath, but she has her heart set on him and she is not one to give up easily. One way or another, she will show Heath she is a grown woman, ready for a husband, not the child he remembers tagging along after his younger brother.

Unfortunately for Jenny, ever since he was left at the altar by a foolish girl who ran off to marry a wealthy old man, Heath Jackson has sworn off marriage, preferring instead the company of widows and saloon girls. And in any case, though he has secretly lusted after her for years, as far as Heath is concerned Jenny is too young, too much like family, and too eager to wed.

But when tragedy strikes, putting more on Jenny’s shoulders than she can bear, her only hope of saving her family home lies in marrying quickly. Can Heath sit back while other men vie for her affections? Can he bear to watch in silence as she chooses a weakling when she desperately needs a strong man like him, one who will keep her safe and give her the sound discipline she needs when her impulsive ways place her in danger? Or will he stand up and claim what should be his, even if it means risking his heart again?

Publisher’s Note: Jackson’s Justice is a stand-alone novel which is the second entry in the Jackson Brothers series. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Fly Girl’s Review

This was not what I expected. I listened to it on audible and the opening scene of Heath Jackson sitting in the church dreaming about Jenny was shocking, it only continued as the story progressed. Who knew a western romance could be so HOT!! Don’t go into this one thinking of Louis L’Amour, it is not even close. This is an erotic romantic suspense story.

Jenny and Heath have been into each other for a long time, but finally circumstances make them overcome their barriers to be with one another. Heath thinks she’s too young. Jenny thinks he’s not into her. If only she could see into his day dreaming. When Jenny is about to lose her home and her siblings, Heath steps in to save the day. Only, that is just the beginning. Jenny thinks of it as an arranged marriage and has plans to do her own thing, but Heath has plans of his own and they don’t include separate beds. He’s definitely all in.

Other people get in the middle of their relationship and Heath does everything he can to cut them out. He continually tries to protect her from her own foolishness by disciplining her in ways only and erotic romance reader can think of. The people, he just straight up wants to kill those folks to eradicate them from her life. Little does he understand his fate and his brothers are all wrapped up in the same people out to do them harm. When it’s discovered all of his family comes to the rescue to protect Jenny and her newly formed family.

Just be aware, there is a lot implied sexual misconduct on the part of those outside Heath and Jenny’s family and their relationship, so if you aren’t into that, you should skip this one. If you don’t mind, you might want to read Marshal’s Law first as there are a few odd scenes with Marshal’s wife that could make your mind go down a long rabbit hole before realizing it isn’t truly important to Jenny and Heath’s story, but it is to the brothers all together.

I’m giving this a 4 of 5 because I’m not into the erotic too much, but the story was good and the characters were well developed and there were some cute shenanigans in it. I’ve got the other two books in the series in my TBL (To Be Listened) to pile. Not sure when I will get to them, but they are on it.

4 of 5 Propellers

A USA Today and #1 international bestselling author, Maddie is a lifelong reader who became a romance junkie as a teen with her first romance novel, The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen Woodiwiss. From then on, she was hooked and gobbled up everything she could get her hands on, whether contemporary, historical, paranormal or sci-fi. If there was romance to be found between a strong alpha male, and a sassy, adventurous and ofttimes defiant yet loving woman, Maddie was all over it. As an author, she stays true to those themes writing steamy erotic romance, with a side of kink, and adding elements of intrigue, danger, and suspense to her plots.

Maddie started writing as a hobby. Her stories stayed private while she raised a family and worked full time as a registered nurse. It wasn’t until 2012 that she decided to take the plunge and submit her first book for publication: Captain My Captain. She went on to publish eleven novels the first year.

As always, Maddie thanks her readers for supporting and embracing her books. Please post a review so she knows what you’re thinking. Constructive, earnest reviews are always welcome and Maddie takes all of your recommendations to heart.
