Fly Girl’s Review:

I’m not a huge fan of secret pregnancies but this one does a good job of keeping it real. These two have a chance meeting and fall in love on an airplane to a small Alaska town where they are each other’s sole source of company. So when one leaves Alaska unexpectedly and the conspiracy begins you have an idea of where everything is going. However, the baby was very unexpected for me. I figured she would finally figure out who he was and go to his rink to get a chance at him. That is not what happens.

There are surprises and awful moments full of anxiety, and anger, and sadness that make you fall in love with both of them and their baby. The families on the other hand, make it difficult. Her straight-laced country-living family and his loud, boisterous hockey family. They get it from both sides. Eventually they both have to rely on one another to care for their child and that makes all the difference. Then it is just figuring out how they are going to live together when both need their independence, but it’s hard when one is rich and one is poor to feel equal.

In the end Helena brings them around and helps them discover just how right they are for each other and how much love they have to give. It is a good story about second chance love and instant families. She makes them both seem like they could be your neighbors, if they lived in huge houses behind locked gates, sure I could see them as my neighbors. I’m only giving this a 4 of 5 because I’m a huge fan of secret babies and it didn’t touch my heart like other books of hers have. Still highly recommend this whole series though.
