Life as I knew it ended the day I accepted my fate.
In its place is an existence even the wildest imagination could never fathom. Strange creatures walk among us, plotting our demise, and I’ve come to find that the fate of our world rests squarely on my shoulders. We’re all in danger and I’m trying to figure out how to make it through each day.
The key to my survival is a man I can’t figure out. As dangerous as the darkest fae, I have no choice but to work with him to stop the prophecy that’s foretold to be the ruination of mankind.
Carrick Byrne continues to be my only source of information, but he doles it out as he sees fit. He intrigues and scares me in equal measure, yet I can’t help but be attracted to him. And the more I discover about him, the more it becomes clear he feels the same.
As we travel to Faere in search of answers, we find that every piece of information leads to more questions, that every question leads to a new piece of the puzzle, and that, most importantly, no one can be trusted.
The more secrets we uncover, one thing is certain— if we have any chance of saving the world, we have to do it together.
A Discovery of Secrets and Fate is book two of the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series and is best enjoyed if read in series order.

Fly Girl’s Review:
Thank goodness Sawyer is releasing these right on top of each other. I devoured this one just like The Revelation of Light and Dark. The story took a few twists and turns in book two. Crazy enough, I thought book one was going to be the world building one, however this one has a whole lot of world building and introduction of the light fae. She is slowly introducing us to all sides of the fight. In the first book it was the gods and the prophecy. Book two we get Carrick and the light fae.
Finley finally gets to see what the light fae look like and what the Faere world looks and feels like. She and Carrick go there to speak with the Seer to hopefully shed some light on the prophecy and Finley’s origin. No spoilers here though. Sawyer brings even more depth to the characters and this strange world they live in. Finley also discovers she is much stronger than she thought she could be and is willing to save the world so her friends can live a life without fear of the unknown. She also realizes she needs this journey to find her place in the world.
Finley discovers in this book she has friends who will stand with her in the prophecy and she realizes they are part of her chosen family by the end of this one. I can’t wait to see what Sawyer has in store for us in book three which will be out in a couple of weeks. You know I’ll be anxiously waiting it and bringing you a review of it as well.
As the blurb says, this is book two and should not be read as a stand alone. You would probably enjoy the book without reading number one but reading them in order really makes the story whole and you have a better understanding of the relationships between the characters and the anxiety Finley feels over being thrust into a prophecy designed by gods for pure entertainment. I’m giving this one a 4 of 5 just because it is early in the story still and not much action has occurred yet. Also, it is a cliff hanger and you all know how I feel about that.
