NICUnurse’s Review of The Relationship Pact by Adriana Locke

I adore Adriana Locke’s books. I don’t think I’ve found any that I haven’t liked so far. And I used to be able to say that I didn’t particularly care for sports romances. She’s changed my tune on that, for sure. And so have the other two authors who wrote the Kings of Football series books. This is the third book in that series, but they are all written as interconnected standalone titles. I’ve read all three now, and can honestly say that you could pick one or two to read and not be the first bit lost on how the stories and the characters weave together. Each book in the series does a great job of tying in the other stories without giving you a huge information dump. They are all very well written when it comes to this aspect. The timelines overlap a bit, so it wasn’t just one author writing in a bubble, either, but the way everything came together was simply wonderful. They are all very well written books…period! I loved each book and the collaboration as a whole.

NICUnurse’s Rating: Of all the Kings of Football characters, and as much as I loved the other two guys, I think Hollis has my heart the most. His backstory is just so heartbreaking. Even when you want to hate him for the decisions he’s making, you just can’t because they come from a place of such deep hurt, and at the same time, he’s truly trying to do what’s best for everyone and protect himself as well. Larissa’s heart is so big, but it’s also a bit beat up and fragile from her dating history. They each have something the other desperately needs, even if they can’t see it from all of their past devastations. And thank goodness for stubborn Southern women with big hearts (and I’m not just talking about Larissa). I also loved the glance of some favorite Adriana Locke characters that popped up in this story, but even if you’ve never read any of her other books, this won’t throw you off. They are written as independent characters in the storyline for you guys. For those of us who love her books, though, it’s like walking into a big, happy family reunion at times, even if it’s slightly dysfunctional. But hey…down here in the deep South, we love our crazy, and we love our dysfunctional if it keeps us laughing and having a good time.

Honestly…I highly recommend the entire series.
