As a former FBI agent, Flynn Coleman was made for his work with Blackbridge Security.

He’s highly trained, has a skill set meant for analysis and investigation, and meant to do important things.

Yet, he’s chasing a twenty-year-old starlet’s daughter around New York City because the spoiled brat never learned how to behave.

Remington Blair doesn’t need a babysitter, but her parents insist.

Keeping Flynn Coleman on his toes will be the most fun she’s had in a while.

Besides, just hearing him call her name with that accent is enough to keep her running.

NICUnurse’s Review of Contingency Plan by Marie James

Contingency Plan is book three in Marie James’s Blackbridge Security series. Each book is written as a stand-alone title, but I’m a romantic suspense and a series junkie, so my default is to recommend readers dive into all of the books. But I’ve read books one and two and after book two, I was a bit hesitant to move on to this one. Shot in the Dark (book two) kind of pushed a bit too close to my personal hard limit as far as what I’m comfortable reading in romance books. But after two books, I was feeling pretty committed to the series, so I opted to try one more. And I can honestly say that I liked Contingency Plan a lot more than Shot in the Dark.Β

NICUnurse’s Rating: I think what I liked most about the book was that the main characters had a lot more depth to them than the blurb implied. Both Flynn and Remington were struggling with pasts that were less than stellar, shall we say, and trying to overcome big mistakes to get their lives back on a better track. The plot had more substance to it than the previous book, as well. Don’t get me wrong. I do like some sexy times in my romance books, but I felt like there was more of that than substance in the previous book’s plot. This book was very hard to put it down when life butted into my reading time, and there were some fairly big issues tackled in it. All in all, I feel like this story has me even more committed to finishing the series as the books release. It kept me engaged and entertained pretty much from the first page all the way to the HEA, and isn’t that ultimately what us romance & romantic suspense lovers look for in our books?

I give Contingency Plan by Marie James 4 out of 5 propellers! Β
