NICUnurse’s Review of Don’t Say a Word by Jennifer Rebecca

Don’t Say a Word is book two of the Liam Goodnite duet. It can be read as a standalone book, but I highly recommend reading both of them in order to get the best reading experience. I’ve been a fan of Jennifer Rebecca’s writing so if you like romantic suspense with a lot of heat, you’re going to want to read her books, too.

What I Liked Most About the Book: I’ve been looking forward to the conclusion to Liam’s story since pretty much the very first Claire Goodnite book. I knew there were some pretty big ghosts in his past, so I was prepared for much more from him after Hush Little Baby. And I wasn’t disappointed. The only thing in this book that was a bit of a let down was the fact that I figured out the who in the whodunnit pretty early on. What I couldn’t figure out was the why behind the bad guy’s motivation. That one surprised me. But the best part of all? The bromance between Liam and Wes. May that never die!

NICUnurse’s Rating: As a long-time Jennifer Rebecca fan, it’s pretty much a given that I’m going to read anything she publishes. Some have been bigger hits than others, but I really like her style of writing, and I really like her suspense, so I’m always going to give her books a shot. This book tackled some very heavy subjects, so there wasn’t as much humor in it as in some of her other books. But they are real issues that real veterans are dealing with each and every day, and she did a great job detailing the emotions they experience. All in all, Liam’s books were worth the wait. And while it was a true struggle for him from the very beginning of his sister’s books, I’m really glad he got his HEA. Despite how much he didn’t think he deserved it, he really, really did. And the epic epilogue was worth the wait, too!
