Who thought writing ‘LOSERS’ on a menu could lead to an affair of love notes?

It didn’t start out as love. How could it when I vowed never to fall in love.

Reef Burton, the sexy blue-eyed Australian football player, and his mates are definitely not ‘Losers’, yet writing it on a menu gave me a reason to smile. Only it didn’t make it to the trash.

He returns to the restaurant where I work wearing his killer smile. I wasn’t to know those squiggly lines and arrows meant something—an offensive play his football team learned at an earlier training session.

He’ll see what I wrote. Apart from it being awkward the next time I serve him, he could also report me to my boss.

I can’t lose my job when in hindsight, I need to pay all the bills rolling in and care for my father.

I’m thankful he kept it as our secret.

Until he left me a note.

The Cocky Hero Club Series is a collection of over one hundred books featuring alpha males and the women they love.  Leesa Bow’s Cocky Notes is another new addition to the Cocky Hero Club with an Australian footballer and the waitress that he has set his sights on.  Grab your afternoon cocktail and let me introduce you to your next book boyfriend – Reef.

Reef and his mates frequent a local restaurant three days per week for breakfast after practice.  It is really more than breakfast.  It is a post-training strategy session.  They ruin the menus by drawing plays on them and if they are important plays, the menus disappear.   The players are loud, give each other grief, and leave a huge mess when they finally decide to end their strategy sessions.  All of which greatly annoys their waitress Macy.  Macy and Reef begin a conversation through notes on the menus and napkins which leads to….well I will stop there.

Leesa Bow has successfully tackled some heavy topics in this book.  Macy has a very troubled past that makes it difficult for her to trust herself and others.  I have to tell you that my favorite character is Reef.  He is a confident romantic.  He understands the power of words and is willing to put action behind the words to get what he wants.  

My rating of Cocky Notes by Leesa Bow….4 out of 5 propellers!
