Hush Little Baby

Life in George Washington Township and the surrounding areas has once again been shaken to its core. Young, unwed mothers are being found hacked to pieces after crude caesareans and their babies are nowhere to be found.

While overseeing the investigation, Captain Liam Goodnite receives some surprising news that just might give him the push that he needs to make the sexy Medical Examiner, Emma Parker, his once and for all.

Only Emma isn’t one to forgive and forget.

Good thing life has taught Lee some tough lessons and now he’s willing to do whatever it takes.

NICUnurse’s Review of Hush Little Baby by Jennifer Rebecca

I kind of stumbled upon Jennifer Rebecca’s Claire Goodnite series a while back and pretty much fell in love with her writing then and there. I’ve devoured each of her subsequent books. So suffice it to say, I’ve been looking forward to Liam Goodnite’s story for quite some time. I mean, hot and more mature cop––yes, please! The strong and strong-willed heroine was a plus too. And it tied up some loose strings from the Claire Goodnite series. Score!

NICUnurse’s Rating: I love that so far, a hefty number of Jennifer Rebecca’s books have had interconnected characters. While they can all be read as standalone titles, most of y’all know I’m a series junkie, so I’m going to always recommend the series. This time, I’d truly say you’re missing out on a heck of an experience if you don’t start with Claire’s series. BUT it’s not necessary. I also have a love/hate relationship with Jennifer Rebecca’s foreshadowing technique. It usually leads to very late night reading for me, so I love it while I’m reading, but I totally hate her in the morning! (Totally true this time around, as well.) With all of that said, it honestly pains me to say that this was not my most favorite book of hers to date. (Sorry, Jennifer Rebecca!) It just felt a little too predictable. However, this is a duet, and I have a feeling book two is going to be anything but predictable. (Crossing my fingers I’m not wrong on this.) Now, don’t get me wrong. I didn’t struggle to get through the book. It kept me interested the entire time. And I didn’t feel like it was a waste of time by any stretch of the imagination. So I DO recommend it. I just REALLY wanted it to be a 5-star read for me, and it wasn’t quite there. (Sorry, Jennifer Rebecca!) I really, really want her to knock my socks off with book two!

I give Hush Little Baby by Jennifer Rebecca 4 out of 5 propellers!

About Jennifer Rebecca

Jennifer is a thirty-something lover of words, all words: the written, the spoken, the sung (even poorly), the sweet, the funny, and even the four-letter variety. She is a native of San Diego, California where she grew up reading the Brownings and Rebecca with her mother and Clifford and the Dog who Glowed in the Dark with her dad, much to her mother’s dismay.

Jennifer is a graduate of California State University San Marcos where she studied Criminology and Justice Studies. She is also a member of Alpha Xi Delta.

13 years ago, she was swept off her feet by her very own sailor. Today, they are happily married and the parents of a 10-year-old and 8-year-old twins. She lives in East Texas where she can often be found on the soccer fields, drawing with her children, or reading. Jennifer is convinced that if she puts her Fitbit on one of the dogs, she might finally make her step goals.

She loves a great romance, an alpha hero, and lots and lots of laughter.
