Silver Mayor is the third installment in L. B. Dunbar’s The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge series which is based in a small town nestled in the mountains of North Georgia.  This series, about the Harrington brothers, is a spin-off from the Second Chance but can all be read a stand-alone book. If you are over 40 and looking for a series that you can relate to, this just might be the one for you.  Grab your afternoon coffee and let’s chat about Silvery Mayor by  L. B. Dunbar

 

Charlie is a responsible parent, a respected lawyer, and the mayor of Blue Ridge.  His ex-wife wanted to be more than the wife of a small-town mayor and made sure that she had stacked her deck with items that she could use against him in the future and for that reason, Charlie has always walked the line.  Well, he did until found a woman that made him want to be wild… to forget respectable Charlie.  

 

Janessa’s high profile marriage ended terribly.  To make a better life for her and her daughter, she has to walk the line for a certain period of time.  She thought escaping to her parents’ home in small-town Georgia would be perfect.  And it was until she met  Charlie who pushed her buttons and screwed up at every turn.  

 

I was excited to find another series based in my home state of Georgia.  It was refreshing to find an author who kept the details about the area general so that I wasn’t hung up thinking “NO, that’s all wrong!” and believe me, I’ve done that.  As a woman over 40, it was also nice to read about characters close to my age with similar life experiences.  I have to say, I fell in love with Charlie.  He was so hilariously hung up on Janessa that he was constantly saying the wrong thing.  It was refreshing to have a character that had real flaws.  

 

My rating for Silver Mayor by L. B. Dunbar….4.5 out of 5 propellers!
