I never dreamed I’d meet my celebrity crush while stealing every single pair of my best friend’s pants.
Trust me, my life is not that wild. In fact, the most excitement I usually get is running my fan-favorite Insta thirst account featuring butt-tastic pics of Hollywood superhero Carter Hayes. I can’t believe this book has been out a week already. I’m still thinking about it. It is such a cute novella and funny. I can’t wait to read the others in the series.
Aubrey is just a girl stuck in a rut. She went home after college to help her Grandma with her bakery even though that wasn’t her plan. She feels like she’s let herself down and this cruise is just what she needs to get herself back on track. She has no idea this is going to happen at the beginning of it. Along the way, having Carter makes her realize she can reach for the stars (literally and figuratively.)
Carter, bless his soul is just trying to get in a little method acting. He’s immersing himself in real life to see if he can show he isn’t just the Hollywood Hero he’s been fashioned into. A side character Carter brings in is his brother who is his devil’s advocate and manager. He brings quite a few laughs to the party and I would love to see his story come out. (Avery–Hint, Hint)
The love story is hot and quick. I mean they believe their romance has an expiration date. The mutual sexual attraction sparks so hard they can’t stay away from each other. Aubrey even kind of ditches all her friends. Because of their desire for one another, they discover some very deep details. By the end of the encounter, each wonders if things were or had been different this might have been a long lasting relationship.
As with most of Avery’s books there is a grand gesture. Which in this book isn’t as grand as I would have liked, but it works for the novella. Seeing as how this one is similar to my romance with my hubby, I get where they were at and the heartache when they separate. She does a good job of bringing that to life, so keep reading for your HEA, cause it is Avery…I’m giving it 4.5. It might make my top 10 this year, we’ll see.
