Book Blurb
Every woman in Millie Delacroix’s family is cursed—kind of.
Birth control just doesn’t work for them. Like ever. Going to the altar knocked up is pretty much a family tradition. And twenty-four-year-old Millie refuses to let that happen to her—again.
Especially now that she’s responsible for raising her brothers and sister. A life of celibacy is her best defense—at least until the kids are grown and can take care of themselves. And, really, what’s ten years with no sex? No men. No sex. No love. It’s a fool-proof plan.
Until she meets Luc Valencia.
The Mexican-American contractor is just trying to do his best. Since his father handed him the reins to the family business, every day is a test to prove himself. At this point in his life, professionalism has to be his top priority.
At least until Millie becomes Luc’s client. Even with too much on her shoulders, the feisty redhead has the power to set him off, crack him up, or bring him to his knees.
All he has to do is resist falling for her through one kitchen remodel, and everything will be fine. Right?
NICUnurse’s Review of Kind of Cursed by Stephanie Fournet
Stephanie Fournet is a new to me author. But the book cover and blurb really drew me in so I decided to take a chance on an author I’ve never read before. Sometimes, it’s a hit, and sometimes, it’s a big miss. Kind of Cursed was a big hit!
Millie’s parents have recently passed away and she’s raising her three siblings and desperately trying to do that how her parents would have done it. But she feels like she’s failing more and more each day. Then she meets Luc. His little brother plays soccer with her little brother, and if that was the only connection they had, she could totally ignore the pull he has on her. But he’s also the contractor she’s hired to remodel the kitchen the way her mom dreamed before her untimely death. And Luc seems to know just how to handle all of her siblings, and he does it so well, how can she resist him? But what about the curse?
NICUnurse’s Rating: Y’all…I simply adored all of the things in this book. The characters were so relatable and loveable. I wanted to give Millie a big hug in nearly every scene. And Luc was just…perfect. Perfect for her. Perfect for her siblings. And even though he’s not a perfect person, he tries hard to be a good man. And he really is one of the good ones. I kept wanting to tell him to never give up on her, even when he was hurting and felt like giving up. The kids were just all-around great kids going through a really tough time. I adored Luc’s family, even if I kinda wanted to smack his dad a few times on the back of the head and tell him to wake up. So suffice it to say, I loved the characters, I loved the story, I loved the humor, and the heartache and the tears. Kind of Cursed is not just a story about finding that everlasting love, it’s a story about how wonderful blended families can be. And it’s a story that shows that you can hold on to memories, yet move forward from tragedy without sacrificing happiness. I quite simply adored this book! I’ll definitely be checking out more books by this author very soon!
I give Kind of Cursed by Stephanie Fournet 5 out of 5 propellers!
