Wild Card left me on the edge of my seat with the kidnapping of Kingston’s sister Regina. In order to get his sister back, Kingston will have to win her in Burlone’s poker tournament. What’s the catch? Kingston’s buy-in is Ace.

Kingston has a special set of skills that involve getting information from people who don’t’ want to talk. Being an ace poker player is not one of them. He can hold his own when playing with the family but he needs to be the best. Lucky for him, Ace has already beaten Burlone at his own game once. She has studied his tactics for years and hates him enough to sacrifice herself to get Regina back from that monster.

Only Kelsie could make us fall in love with a mafia boss who’s special set of skills involve torture. Kingston, the Dark King, may rule the Romano family business ruthlessly but behind closed doors, he rules Ace with tender, loving touches. There are so many stories to tell from this wonderfully created set of characters. I really hope that there are more books to come. With my whiskey tumbler and tissues in hand, I give Dark King 5 out of 5 propellers!
