What’s the worst that could happen?
Mona is a smart girl and had everything figured out a long time ago. She had to. She didn’t have a choice. When your parents are uber-celebrities and you graduate from high school at thirteen, finish college at seventeen, and start your PhD program at eighteen, you don’t have time for distractions outside of your foci. Even fun is scheduled.
Which is why Abram, her brother’s best friend, is such an irritant.
Abram is a talented guy, a supremely gifted musician, and has absolutely nothing figured out, nor does he seem to care. He does what he feels, when he feels, and–in Mona’s opinion–he makes her feel entirely too much.
As many of you know Penny Reid is one of the authors I read regularly. I love reading her nerdy and quirky romances, they remind me of The Big Bang Theory, in many ways, especially Penny’s science series. Laws of Physics is the second Trilogy Penny has written the first being Elements of Chemistry. If you haven’t read it you should it’s a great quirky trilogy.
As for Laws of Physics part one Motion overall I really enjoyed the story. With having an arc copy there were place I did get pulled out if the story, with missing words and so forth. As an author myself I know arcs are going to have issues, as a reader its a little jarring. That said I liked the characters, Mona is a child prodigy. And yes her field of study is Physics. At nineteen she’s already working toward her Ph.D. So when she gets asked/told to impersonate her sister it’s no wonder she has reservations. I could see and feel the issues Mona had/has as she’s pretending to be her twin sister Lisa. When you look exactly the same but have two extremely different personalities pretending to be what your not can’t be easy. While there are times I wanted to smack the people around Mona, I liked how she did try to make those people listen. If you watch or have watched the big bang Mona has a bit of Sheldon & Lenard in her. Which brings us to Abram, who has a bit of Penny in him.
Abram on the other hand is a few years older, Mona’s brother’s friend and a highly talented musician and song writer. He’s never met Mona before but he has met Lisa and it isn’t a happy memory. Yet he agrees to “watch” Lisa when she gets into trouble. And everything that happens after Mona arrives pretending to be Lisa is a love story waiting to happen if only we didn’t know Lisa will be coming home.
So if you’re ready for a bit of nerdy romance let Mona and Abram start you on their journey to a HEA.

Still an unrepentant slacker.
What’s the worst that could happen?
Mona’s meticulously planned allotment of relaxation is thrown into chaos by the unscheduled appearance of her older brother’s band of friends, including the one person she’d hoped to never face again. Abram still makes her feel entirely too much, which is one of the reasons she disappeared after their one week together. But now, trapped on a mountain of snow and things unspoken, Mona will have to find a way to coexist with Abram, chaos and all.
Space is part two in the Laws of Physics series. It takes place two years after the end of Motion. Whereas Motion was sweet and Mona and Abram got to know each other, even with Mona pretending to be Lisa, Space is the opposite. Abram now knows Mona and Lisa switched places and boy is he pissed. Yet neither one has gotten over the other. Space is an in your face story as you start to break through Mona’s shell and Abram of course shows his rocker “FU” your nothing to me side that he wants the world to see. This is the first book it a while that has actually made me teary eyed.
Not only does Abram have drama that he’s putting Mona through so does her older brother Leo. It really seems that Mona can’t get a break when it comes to her siblings, and yet she always takes the higher ground and does what she feels like is her duty.
In Space there are a lot more characters to keep up with unlike in Motion. But these characters are need to help move the story and push Mona and Abram to talk out their issues once and for all. That said don’t expect an HEA because the series isn’t over and I’m sure Penny will stir the pot a little more before Abram and Mona actually get together.
