Get your tissues ready, you are going to be put through the wringer with this one. It is by far on of the best series starters I’ve read in ages. She seamlessly inflicts her plan of pain, renewal, love, and compassion on us in this first book. I honestly think this will be the best series she’s written when it all gets said and done.

In the review of Sunkissed Days I said I hoped the Great-Grandfather would be a pivotal part of the series, Oh how I was wrong…Spoiler Alert!!!She kills him off in the sweetest way in this one so the only relationship he gets to influence in the series is Mallory and Jake. He does a really good job of bringing them together, but really…His death and a HURRICANE!!! I never give spoilers, but I couldn’t say the next part without you knowing those two things.

Samantha gives us the perfect opportunity to see the town of Magnolia Sound change it’s face, and allows the next generation to thrive and grow without us losing the past. When the town is nearly destroyed from the hurricane and Zeke’s death everyone is given and opportunity for change, the buildings, the businesses, the business owners, pretty much all of it. It will be fun to see how she rebuilds this town and the relationships she feels need a story. I’m very excited to the upcoming books.

I’m giving this a 4.5 of 5 and if you wanted to start reading Samantha Chase, this is her at her finest moment and a great new series.
