If you are still looking for one last great book for reading in the “Month of Love”, look no further! The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever is it! When secret high school sweethearts, Grace and Reed, end up back in their home town unexpectedly, they simply can’t resist falling back in love — as if they ever fell out of it!
I loved Grace and Reed’s romance. They left town and went their separate ways but something was always missing from their lives. Each filled their lives with work and even other romances, but it was never right. They love effortlessly and fall immediately back into old patterns from their relationship in high school, filled with nicknames and sweet gestures. I kept waiting for something to mess it all up, but that never happened. Instead, they communicated with each other, cleared up miscommunications from their earlier years, and build a newer, stronger love.
Loving you is easy, baby. That makes anything doable.
The supporting characters were as enjoyable as the MCs. I loved Grace’s sisters. They all had such different personalities, but not so much that, you couldn’t tell they are family. Sneaking out in the early morning hours to “Hottie Hill” to watch the hottest men in Oak Falls break in horses sounds like a fun family tradition! It’s also obvious that Grace’s parents are very loving and supportive of all their children. Grace’s Mom even going as far as to offer to pack Grace’s bag for a sleepover because she sees how happy Reed makes her! Reed’s family is just as adorable. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, who are the only parents he’s known. They have the kind of love that your grandparents may have had: enduring and timeless.
There are no big character changes that need to occur for this HEA. Just two people who have to realize exactly how great their love is and that nothing is impossible. There’s enough sugar in this romance to give you a cavity but before you think it’s too saccharin, there’s plenty of fire to balance it out! If you like your Valentine’s candy sweet but a still little bit spicy, this one is for you!
