Available in audio first, an intoxicating new romance by USA Today best-selling author Louise Bay!

International Player

Being labelled a player never stopped me from being successful with women. Until I met Truly Harbury. Truly was the first girl who ever turned me down. The first female friend I ever had. And she might just be the first woman with whom I ever fall in love.

When an emergency means she needs my help running her family’s charity, I’m happy to introduce her to the glitz and glamour of the London business world – taking her to dinners, coaching her through speeches, zipping up the sexy evening gown I helped her pick out. The more time we spend together, the more I want to convince her I’m not a man to avoid, that we’re not as unsuited as she believes.

She sees herself as the book-reading, science-loving introvert while I’m the dangerous, outgoing charmer. She thinks I love parties and people whereas she prefers pajamas and takeout. What she doesn’t realize is that I like everything about her – the way her smile lights up a room, how her curves light up my imagination, and especially the way her lips taste when coated with tequila.

She’s the first woman with whom I ever fell in love. I just need to know if she could ever love me, too.

Fly Girl’s Review:

Mmhmm good, good, good. If you are an introvert who believes your sibling has one up on you, this book is for you.  It’s also for anyone needing a little British accent in your life, I believe that is everyone else.  I loved this audiobook.  Louise Bay has a unique story in the British couple Truly and Noah.  The supporting cast rocks too!!

Truly and Noah have a strange friendship prior to him leaving London for NYC for a business opportunity that lasts four years.  In the meantime Truly and her twin have successfully been running their Mother’s charity organization and helping as many children’s organizations as possible.  When Truly’s sister gets put on bed rest for the baby’s sake, Truly has to figure out how to step out of her spreadsheet shell and deal directly with the donors.  And this is where Noah steps in…he’s the perfect coach to help her get it right from her dress and appearance, to a date at functions, to helping with the presentations.  He does it all for Truly and in the midst of it all, he discovers she isn’t the only one holding a flame.

When their friends with benefits plan gets out of hand, they both discover they aren’t willing to lose the best thing that has happened to them so they learn to fight for what they want and also open up their hearts like they never have before.  What I love about this story is I think there are a lot of women out there just like Truly who believe they aren’t worthy of the guy they like.  But I say if you don’t try, you won’t be worthy.  Stick your neck out just like Truly and you might be surprised by what greets you.

This one has it all for me.  Sweet slow burn, no cliffhanger, a HEA, and some hot-hot sex.  I’m giving this a 4.5 of 5 propellers and right now it’s in the running for my top 10 list.  BTW, the narrators are to die for on this one.  They make the story come alive in a way reading it wouldn’t have for me.  Enjoy!!
