Fly Girl’s Review:

I’ve loved these covers since I first saw them months ago, so it’s no surprise I elected to read and review them all.  Unfortunately my schedule didn’t allow me to review Lies when it first released, so I’m also going to review it here.  But suffice it to say, this series will most likely make my Top 10 list for 2019.  I know it’s early, but this is so good.  If you want to catch up on my review of SECRETS, check it out here.

LIES: I listened to this one since I’ve been working on some other books.  It gave me an opportunity to listen at work.  I’m just so amazed at how Aleatha keeps you drawn into the story but still withholding so much information.  That is a very hard thing to do and many authors are not good at it, but I can definitely say she is outstanding.

Book two gives us a look into what life with Sterling really is like.  The lavish lifestyle, the uber paranoia, the infinite reach and why his control issues.  Kennedy on the other hand we learn about more of her past, get into all the lies she’s been told.  She begins to put the story together and then finds her friends in danger that she can’t control.  Sterling starts to make promises to her that he isn’t sure he can keep, or wants to keep is a better statement.  The struggle between them for power is definitely a turn on and makes their romance spicy.  She starts to settle into her place within Sterling’s inner circle and she finds their really are a family.

This one makes you need to read Promises, so it’s nice that you can binge read or listen to them all.  She has done an excellent job on this series and this demonstrates whey I love her writing so much.  Two final things about this one.  They both realize they love one another and Kennedy is forced to make a stand with or against Sterling.  So keep reading to find out the conclusion.

PROMISES:  I was lucky, I finished Lies just before Promises came out so I was fresh off the latest in the series.  I actually wasn’t sure what this one was going to hold. There were so many things left hanging from the other two that I worried at first she wouldn’t be able to wrap it all up.  I should have never doubted her because she ties them all up with a nice neat little bow.

Somehow in this one she really solidifies the relationship between Kennedy and Sterling.  Although each of the previous books has a cliffhanger, the romance is a  HEA in each of them.  Even though they have those HEAs, she still finds ways to build the relationship as if they took another giant leap in each book.  So, same couple lots of HEAs to the final I LOVE YOU!!!

Back to the story, there is lots of action in this book to include a secret lock box which we all know she has the key to and where it most likely is, but the mystery to get it is very fun.  Sterling shows her how much he loves and trusts her by finally giving her the handprint in the security system, and he discovers the reason behind the FBI thoughts of Sinful Threads being in illegal activities.  He nips that in the bud too…  But the best part of all is we see both of Kennedy’s Moms stories which fill in all the blanks as to why each one thinks Sparrow is the bad guy, when in reality Sterling is the good-bad guy.  OK, that was a pun on the mob, but I couldn’t help myself.

In the end Kennedy realizes how much she was loved and wanted and how big her family really is.  She also learns to place her trust in her family no matter the obstacle and discovers she can do anything with her family beside her.  There is still mob action, but it slows down a little bit in this one.  The Epilogue is the best part, so be sure you stick to the end.  I’m giving this series a 5 of 5 and like I said at the beginning this will probably make my Top 10 list for the year.  I know it’s early, but well stick it on the temporary list for now.

Aleatha, I can’t wait to see what your amazing mind and genius imagination come up with next.  We all wait breathlessly.  BTW, loved these covers.  Nothing to do with diamonds, but they caught my eye.
