Coopers CharmOne summer, two sisters and a chance to start over…

Before the burglary that shattered her confidence, Phoenix Rose had a fiancé, a successful store and a busy, happy existence. After months spent adrift, she takes a job at the lakeside resort of Cooper’s Charm. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, friendly colleagues and a charismatic, widowed boss, Phoenix is slowly inching her way back into the world.

Visiting Cooper’s Charm to check up on her little sister, Ridley Rose impulsively agrees to fill in as housekeeper. Still reeling from an ego-bruising divorce, she finds satisfaction in a job well done—and in the attention of the resort’s handsome scuba instructor.

For Phoenix and Ridley, Cooper’s Charm is supposed to be merely temporary. But this detour may lead to the place they most need to be, where the future is as satisfying as it is surprising…

Fly Girl’s Review:

This one attracted my attention because it was a double romance.  I’ve never read one and thought, can it be done?  It surely can be done and Lori Foster does it exquisitely.  The stories of the two couples are very different and the romance isn’t the either.  One is a compassionate, caring slow burn, while the other one is a hard hitting fireworks of satisfaction.

Lori makes the characters very modern with current slang, the use of social media in their character profiles, and the way they interact with people via electronic devices and she describes the differences between the younger and older generations at the RV resort.  I really liked that because I think a lot of stories don’t do justice to the digital age and it dates their stories.  She also gives us a peak into a resort community full of characters and relaxing beautiful scenery.  It would be cool if she made this into a series so we could see some more interaction with the campers that come to Cooper’s RV resort.

There was only a couple of issues I had that are keeping this from being a 5 propeller read.  I’m not giving this 5 propellers because I didn’t think the ending of the suspense portion of the story worked.  The reason didn’t seem plausible and I don’t think there was enough character development.  I don’t want to give any spoilers so that is all I’m going to say.  The book delivers on the two Happily Ever Afters and that definitely gives this a solid 4 in my eyes.

Lori Foster is a New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestselling author of more than 100 titles. She’s known for her fun, very sexy contemporary romance novels revolving around alpha males and meet (and fall in love with) strong, independent women. Lori’s been a recipient of the prestigious RT Book Reviews Career Achievement Award for Series Romantic Fantasy, and for Contemporary Romance. Even more fun, Lori’s been a clue in the New York Times crossword puzzle, a clue in the USA TodayQuick-cross puzzle, and the sensual and sexy Too Much Temptation was Amazon’s 2002 top-selling title in Romance.

I’ve always been a daydreamer, weaving elaborate stories in my head long before I actually became a writer, and I was a writer long before I became a published author. It took five years and over ten manuscripts (two of them in #2 pencil in long-hand!) before I finally got “the call”. (Yes, that tells my age. I started writing pre-computer era!)

I didn’t know I wanted to write. It wasn’t until I was grown, had worked various jobs, and was busy with three kids that I discovered romance novels. Unhappy endings aren’t very entertaining, in my opinion, and romance is the only genre I know that offers such a great variety — comedy, paranormal, suspense, family-oriented, contemporary and historical — and still guarantees that happy ending.

Lori has a super-active Facebook page where she regularly gives away reader goodies like books (of course), T-shirts, ARCs (advance reviewers’ copies), tote bags and lots of fun swag. LIKE her Facebook page so you never miss out!
