Fly Girl’s Review:

I finally get to take one off the TBR pile and put it in the completed shelf!!!–But now I have to add The Loving Touch to the TBR pile.  I have to say I really like Stoni Alexander’s stories.  They are well thought out and realistic, which as you all know, when it comes to Contemporary Romance it is a must for me.  I love me some Historic Romances, swoon–swoon…OK, out of my head and on to the review.

I read The Wilde Touch first, which is the second book and reviewed it with 4.5 propellers.  This one the plot was just as engaging and the characters were well developed.  Brigit and Colton’s on fire romance is definitely a winner.  The attraction at first sight, love will follow play was realistic. I say realistic because that is how it happened with my hubby, only he wasn’t filthy stinking rich.  I also liked that just as with Crockett, he thought with his other head and worked very hard to control that aspect of his DNA.  There was also a little bit of mystery with Brigit hiding her identity and the fight over the company.  I won’t give any spoilers ’cause there is one big, “I didn’t see that coming,” moment in it.  I can’t stand spoilers so I won’t do it to you.  One part I wasn’t too keen on was the company takeover and how easily Brigit gave in to having Colton buy it outright.  When you read it, you’ll know what I’m saying.  I think she could have had an internal fight over it that was stronger and maybe some dialogue with her attorney away from the Mitus compound.  Just my two cents.  Again, I’m a reviewer not a writer.

Because of a few things, I can only give this one a 4 of 5 propellers.  One issue is, there are some awkward spots in the writing that I had to go back and read twice to figure our what was being said or the emotion she was trying to convey.  Two, the lack of internal struggle for Brigit when she is about to lose the company.  You can definitely tell this is her first book.  But you all know how much we like to do reviews of brand new writers and this one was worth it.  The good news is her second book The Wilde Touch the issues get fewer and fewer.  I really can’t wait to see how book three The Loving Touch comes out.  By the way, you can preorder that one now; it comes out February 8th.  I will definitely be reading it.

I can’t wait to see how Stoni’s writing progresses.  This is one of the best parts of being in on a brand new writer, you get to see them develop their style and their writing prowess.  As a bonus, she is bringing her books out frequently enough you can really get a good feel for her work.  Stoni, can’t wait to read the next one.  Your stories are great, and I do have to commend your editor, they are well polished.  If you listen to the audio post  of Letters Away, you’ll understand what I mean.  Until the next book, happy reading to our WickedCoolFlight passengers.
