Assassin Next Door, Bad Boy Inc. Series, Contemporary Romance, Eve Langlais, Pint Sized Protector, review
She might be small but she can still kick his ass.
An assignment to babysit a rich dude isn’t Kacy’s idea of a fun assignment. Especially since he and his bodyguard are just like all the other boys she knows, thinking she’s too tiny to pack a punch.
I’ll show him.
She’ll show him that sexy things come in small packages and he won’t be able to stop himself from falling for the pint-sized protector. Problem is, who’ll protect his heart?
When a gunman threatens her life, he wants to send her away, but her Latina pride won’t allow herself to be treated like anything less than a pro.
Will pride also stand in the way of her happiness?
Fly Girl’s Review:
Eve has not failed to deliver on another Happily Ever After for me. Yes there is a little bit of a mystery/cliff hanger at the end but in this series you expect that. She builds on the issues developed in Assassin Next Door for the Bad Boy Inc company, and does it nicely. I can’t wait to see how Darren’s Happily Ever After happens. But that’s a whole other story. We just get a tidbit in this book.
I love the synopsis. It makes it sound like she’s going to fall for her protectee…oh, but you couldn’t have been more wrong. And that is the beauty of this story. Until about halfway through you keep trying to figure out how she’s going to fall for Darren when all she can think about is Marcus. After that, the things she does to drive Marcus crazy are great. I was able to picture a lot of the scenes in my head and many made me laugh as much as say, “Come on kids make up, please…” Although there is a lot of mystery about who is out to kill who and what it is all really about, the heat between Kacy and Marcus gives the story a second plot.
So there isn’t as much sex in this one as usual. I guess it’s all the bombs and gunshots and late night prowling, but in the end it’s still there and in Eve fashion it is Hot.Hot.Hot!!! So if you’re into finding out what is going on with Bad Boy Inc and want to see who is targeting them, this will be right up your alley. You get a little hot romance in the end too. See how I did that “a little”, just for laughs because Kacy is so pint sized. Love you Eve, keep ’em coming. Oh by the way, make Darren really hot in the next one, please!!!
So I’m only giving this a 4 of 5 propellers because there were a couple of scenes that didn’t quite jive with me when it came to the context or the character flaws. In the car trunk scene they wouldn’t have been talking about her protective detail and training out in the open seeing as they believe it might be an insider threat, and in one of the sex scenes there is no disparity of height mentioned. So for those two I have to drop it 1 propeller, but I’m sure she’ll come back with a 5 of 5 next time. I simply have FAITH.
Fly Girl’s Rating: 4 of 5 Propellers
