Note from NICUnurse: I would be amiss if I didn’t give a HUGE thank you to Katie Reus and Nazarea Andrews (from Inkslinger PR) for their patience and willingness to not have this review up on time. Their support during my dad’s illness and passing was greatly appreciated. But… at Wickedcoolflight, we really do like to keep our promises and commitments, so here’s my review post, as promised!

******************NICUnurse’s Review of Savage Rising by Katie Reus***************

Savage Rising is book 2 in Katie Reus’ Redemption Harbor series. It is a stand-alone book, but, with most series books, you do get more out of the book if you’ve read the previous book in the series. If you’re unsure of this new series, check out my review of Resurrection posted on July 11, 2017.

Now… about Savage Rising

Sometimes family isn’t blood relatives. For the people of Redemption Harbor Consulting, this is absolutely true. Zac Savage came home to Redemption Harbor when his family needed him the most. He decided to stay and join his family in working at Redemption Harbor Consulting. Olivia Carter gave up her life of crime when she was pregnant with her daughter. But that life has just caught up with her in a big way. So she runs to Redemption Harbor to her friends, and they agree to help her get rid of her past, once and for all. Zac and Olivia couldn’t be more different if they tried. But when they team up to take down a smart criminal from Olivia’s past, sparks fly, of course! Both have major trust issues that stem from some big hurts in their pasts. Yet, they are able to work together and trust each other for the job at hand… but what about when hearts are involved?

So… I’m a big fan of this author’s books. However, this was not my favorite book of hers. Don’t get me wrong… it’s still a good book. Strong characters, awesome chemistry between the lead characters, suspense, and mystery, it’s got it all. However, at times it seemed to drag a bit, and all the twists and turns at the end were somewhat hard to follow. Now, I will say that all of this negative stuff may very well just be me and all that has been going on in the last few weeks in my life. It’s been harder to focus, even to focus on books which have always been my escape and a great distraction in rough times. And not so rough times, too. So I suspect a good bit of this is truly just me. I’m going to give this book a solid 4.5 propeller rating because of that. I’m going to re-read this book after a few weeks, and I’ll update my review if my opinion changes. Katie was kind enough to be OK with this review being late, so I owe her at least that. All in all, it’s still worth your time and money if you are a romantic suspense fan like me!
