JB Salsbury – Fighting For Honor

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author JB Salsbury brings her Fighting series to Harper Sloan’s Hope Town in this Kindle Worlds exclusive, Fighting for Honor.

UFL fighter Caleb hasn’t been to Hope Town since he was eighteen. His next big fight takes place in Atlanta and the serene lakefront home from his childhood is the perfect place to train without distractions.

Until he stumbles downstairs to find a woman in his house. He’s met her before, and he’s never forgotten.

Honor was raised by her grandfather, Crazy Colonel Cartwright. Ostracized at a young age she was an outcast. Combined with her awkward personality and she became the local bully’s favorite plaything.

Honor and Caleb come face-to-face and feelings from fourteen years ago come rushing back—not all of them good.

She prefers to remain unknown, but she’s seen in public with the world’s most talked about fighter and thrust into a national spotlight that catches the attention of her childhood tormentors.

And they aren’t finished with her yet.

*************NICUnurse’s Review of Fighting for Honor by JB Salsbury**************

This book is a part of the Corps Security in Hope Town series, a Kindle Worlds book. It’s part of the Fighting series by JB Salsbury and has characters from the Hope Town and the Corps Security series by Harper Sloan. I’ve read most of the Fighting series books, all of the Corps Security books, and all but one of the Hope Town books. I can honestly say, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all!

Fighting for Honor is (so far) the last book in the Fighting series and features Caleb and Honor. Caleb has come back to the US after training UFL fighters in England for a few years. As a kid, his family vacationed in Hope Town, and since it’s close to the venue for his big fight, he’s chosen to live and train there for a few months. Since he’s a big name prepping for a big fight, the men of Corps Security are featured as his security team. A couple of the women also make an appearance, too. And who could forget Sway?! He’s got a cameo in here as well. Honor is working for the owner of the house Caleb is renting and is the housekeeper and cook for him. When Caleb figures out she’s the girl he had a bit of a crush on his last summer in Hope Town; it’s game on for him. Since Honor was bullied by a group of guys he used to hang with those summers, she’s not interested at first. But since he was nice to her, despite the others, there’s a glimmer of something, and she finally gives him a chance.

What I love about books like this is that you get a glimpse of old favorite characters who bond together with the new guy to save the girl. And Caleb really IS a good guy. So I totally rooted for him from the beginning. Honor is understandably shy and unsure of herself and others. But, I really felt for her after all that she’d been through in her life. And Honor is still being bullied, so seeing the bullies get their due did my heart good. The character development in this story is excellent, and you know right away who to love and who you need to hate. This book had me interested and hooked from page one. It’s a stand-alone book, but if you truly want to appreciate all the minor characters and their personalities, you will get more out of the story if you read the Fighting books, the Corps Security books, and the Hope Town books. And all of those are worth the price and the time, in my humble opinion!

NICUnurse’s Rating: I’m giving this a book a solid 5 propellers!!
