So I’ve been doing a little author stalking of Eve. I have to admit she’s been very gracious. When The Assassin Next Door came out I asked if I could get a copy to do a review on it. Funny, I got a digital copy, but my TBR list was so long I decided to get an audio version, which I paid for. This new series is awesome.
For being such a departure from her typical genre she created a believable world and characters. The heroine, Lily was so true to life I was entranced to see how she would handle situation after situation. The hero was masculine, loveable, and hot. She definitely does action and suspense well. She has a bit of technology blended in that really gives it a modern feel. So my favorite scene was the pool hall scene. She schools him in pool enough to pay for her groceries. But the whole time he’s scoping the place out for a contact he needs to meet.
The only part I didn’t like was when she finally realizes he is an assassin and she gets mad at him. I mean he’s been honest with her the whole time. I can see her upset that she was an idiot, but not to get mad at him. It seemed refreshing to read a story where the character was completely honest.
I can’t wait to see how she gives each of the partners in Bad Boys, Inc. their happily ever after.
This is definitely a 5 of 5 propellers for me.
So there is a novella Pint Sized Protector in this series that is already out. I’m definitely going to check that out in short order. Pick up a copy of The Assassin Next Door, you won’t be disappointed. Happy reading.
