About THE BEAUTY OF US:
New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby delivers another sizzling novel in her delectable and sexy Fusion series.
Riley Gibson is over the moon at the prospect of having her restaurant, Seduction, on the Best Bites TV network. This could be the big break sheâs been waiting for. But the idea of having an in-house show on a regular basis is a whole other matter. Their lives would be turned upside down, and convincing Mia, her best friend and head chef of Seduction, that having cameras in her kitchen every day is a good idea is daunting. Still, Riley knows itâs an opportunity she canât afford to pass on. And when she meets Trevor Cooper, the showâs executive producer, sheâs stunned by their intense chemistry.
Trevorâs sole intention is to persuade Riley to allow Best Bites TV to do a show on her restaurant. But when he walks into Rileyâs office, he stops dead in his tracks. The professional, aloof woman on the phone is incredibly beautiful and funny. But can he convince her that heâs interested in Riley for himself? Or is he using the undeniable pull between them to persuade her to agree to his offer?

And Donât Miss the First Three Standalone Novels in the Fusion Series!
Kristen’s Fusion Series is fast becoming one of my favorites. Her latest Beauty of Us is a fun loving story that speaks to the struggle we all have before we find the one. I think many of us start with the same type of relationship that Trevor and Riley. Well maybe not the same, since Trevor is a producer and Riley is one of the owners of Seduction. But many of us I think start out as friends as Trevor and Riley.
The Beauty of Us, is a sweet love story where the couple starts out as friends, who have incredible chemistry. And they do have an incredible chemistry. Chemistry isn’t they only that Kristen created for these two. She had be giggling with some of the conversations between Trevor and Riley and also the rest of the group. In someways I see my relationship within these pages. My husband is a complete Trevor, what many would call a nerd but he makes me laugh and we have a lot of fun together. We also were friends before we started dating. Like Trevor my husband has introduced me to a few of his favorite things as well, including watching Star Wars every year.
One of the other reasons I love this series is that we get to see the other couples as the girls and their special guys are all family and make sure Trevor feels welcome. While Trevor and Riley do have their ups and downs the Seduction group is there for each other. And we get a glimpse into the other couples lives as they’re moved forward.
âThere seems to be an explosion in the jackass population,â I reply, and sigh, passing my glass to Kat for a refill.
âWhere are you meeting them?â he asks, and I bite my lip.
âI donât want to tell you.â
âOnline,â he says with a nod.
âI didnât say that!â
âDidnât have to. If you met him at the gym or the grocery store, or somewhere else in person, you wouldnât be embarrassed.â
âIâm not embarrassed.â
âYes, you are. Otherwise, you wouldnât mind telling me.â
âFine.â I sigh and rub my forehead with my fingers. âI met them online.â
âStop that,â he says.
âI donât know where else Iâd meet people,â I reply. âIâm at work at least fifty hours a week. I donât do school or clubs or church, and I rarely go to the grocery store because I always eat here.â
âI could stop feeding you,â Mia interjects and I toss her a glare.
âIâm just saying, if you always do what youâve always done, youâll always get what youâve always gotten.â
âI donât understand any of the words you just said.â I squint at him, trying to process.
âSwitch it up,â he says with a grin. âTry to meet people somewhere else. I mean, you didnât meet me online, and Iâm not an asshole.â
âSure, youâre cute, and you look like you have your shit together, but I suspect that once I got to know you Iâd learn that you have mommy issues and fourteen dogs.â
âYou might,â he says with a thoughtful nod. âI do hide those things well. All Iâm saying is, stop using the dating sites and try meeting people in real life.â
âYeah. Easy for you to say.â I pout into my wineglass. âDo I need to send you some money for this counseling session?â
âNah, the first oneâs on me,â he says, tossing that crazy-hot smile at me again. âJust donât combine Star Wars and Star Trek anymore and thatâs payment enough for me.â
He pulls a few bills out of his wallet and tosses them on the bar, then stands to leave.
âHave a good night, and good luck,â he says.
âThanks.â Just as heâs almost out of view, I call out. âWait! I didnât ask your name.â
âTrevor,â he says, and my stomach immediately does at least four cartwheels. âTrevor Cooper.â
âYouâre early,â is all I can think to say. My cheeks burning, my fingertips immediately tremble. âYouâre not supposed to be here for two more days.â
âI like to come early. Get the lay of the land, that sort of thing.â He smiles and waves. âSee you in a couple of days.â
He walks away, and as soon as I hear the front door close, I turn to my friends and just stare at them in utter horror.
âTell me that didnât just happen.â
About Kristen Proby:
Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.
During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.
Not only did she publish one book, sheâs since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.
Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two pugs and two cats.
