About HOPE RESTORED
The Gallagher Brothers series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan concludes with the final brother who thought he had everything to look forward to, and the one woman who can handle him.
Life isn’t worth living if you don’t fight to live. That’s what Murphy Gallagher learned at a young age when cancer ravaged his body not once, but twice. Over the course of his survival, he lost his parents and his childhood, but he’s been healthy for years and has become a man he hopes his family is proud of. But when his world tilts on its axis yet again, he’ll have to learn what it means to fight not only the unknown but also his attraction to his best friend.
Tessa Stone works hard and plays harder. She’s spent her life trying to figure out who she is in the present rather than looking back. Yet when she’s forced into close proximity with Murphy, she’ll have to not only be his rock but learn how to relax enough to maybe let him be hers, as well. But seduction doesn’t stop when the world seems to, and close encounters of the naked kind might just be the first step in something much more complicated than either of them bargained for. Life, though, is for living, after all.

NICUnurse’s Review of “Hope Restored” by Carrie Ann Ryan
So, full disclosure… this was only the 2nd book from this author that I’ve read
*collective gasp*
I know… craziness there.
She writes about subjects that are a bit out of my comfort zone so I’ve been hesitant to read much of her work (please take no offense, Carrie! You’re a really awesome person!). I’m glad this was the 2nd book I did choose to read because it was really heartfelt and only skimmed over something out of my comfort zone.
Hope Restored is the last book in her Gallagher Brothers series, but it absolutely can be read as a standalone book. In fact, I’ve NOT read the other books (odd for me, I know) and I had no problems following the story line and no problems figuring out the characters. I will say I think this would have more of an emotional impact if I had read the other books, but there was definitely no confusion despite that.
I’m going to give this book 4.5 propellers and here’s why:
First of all, she took a very alpha hero and made him physically vulnerable. Not weak, just vulnerable. In romance books, this is rare. He’s absolutely a strong man because of all the obstacles he’s overcome in the past. But his story is one hope and restoration in a couple of ways. He has to face his old nemesis once again. Plus he has to figure out how to actually admit his feelings for the heroine while going through a very rough time. And the story line is so believable and authentic. But despite his vulnerability, he’s still the hero that saves the day.
Second, I’m a sucker for friends to lovers romance. I’m a bit biased in that area, but I do love it! I’m so skeptical of the love at first sight type romance and these 2 characters have been fighting their feelings for a while. I loved watching them figure it all out.
And third, there was one plot twist that I hated, but I totally get why it had to go the way this author took it. It added to the authenticity of the story and it was necessary. But man… rip my heart out, why don’t ya?! (Yes, there were actual tears.)
If you love stories that deal with love, loss, illness, tragedy, and triumph, this is definitely a book you’re going to want to read.
Congratulations on another winner, Carrie Ann Ryan!
