ABOUT LOCKE AND KEY
THE STOIC SPECIAL FORCES OPERATOR
There’s only one person to blame for darkening the last years of Locke Oliver’s military career: Cassidy Noble. And damn if he doesn’t have to save her from the side of a frozen mountain.
Even after the job is done, he can’t shake the woman from his thoughts. He blames her for the deaths in his Army unit so many years ago, and he’s not ready to let that go. It’s driving him to the point of distraction, and now his Titan Group boss says to get his act together or get out.
THE FEISTY, FALLEN REPORTER
Cassidy is a disgraced journalist, once accused of treason—Or she’s an American hero. It depends on who you ask. She’s on a mission to rebuild her name and started with a simple question but discovered a complex web of spies and possible human trafficking.
Titan Group believes in her.
Locke does not. Until he can’t deny the truth any longer about the past or what she’s uncovered in her investigation.
BECOME AN INSEPARABLE TEAM
Cassidy volunteers to go undercover. Locke would do anything to stay by her side as she slips into the network and is sold to the highest bidder. All is going right until everything goes wrong. Nothing is as they expect including falling in love with the woman he thought he hated.

NICUnurse’s Review:
This is the latest installment in Cristin’s Titan series. It can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading the other books in the series first for two reasons. First, they are all great! Second, the characters from previous stories make appearances throughout, so it really enriches your reading experience to know who they are and what they do for Titan Group.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the Titan books, but I must say that this was not my favorite. It took a few chapters for me to feel like I really got sucked into the story. Once I did, it was good story and a quick read. And the subject matters covered really hit home. Ms. Harber did an excellent job writing about very hard subjects (war and loss, PTSD and misunderstandings coming out of all of that, as well as human/sex trafficking). She handled those with empathy, compassion and a desire to shed light on a horrific practice. A HUGE high five to her for that. I can only imagine how difficult those writing days had to be for her as an author. This story centers around Locke and Cassidy. Locke, of course, works for Titan Group and Cassidy is an investigative reporter. She has taken a fall from grace in the court of public opinion and is working hard to clear her name and rebuild her career. There is some very hurtful history between the two and the story begins with a lot of hate on Locke’s part. But sometimes the line between hate and love is very thin and where there is great capacity for hate, there’s also great capacity for love. This story, like all her Titan books, has a HEA. It has all the elements I love in these books. But I have to give it 4 propellers. I hate to do that because I love her books and I just got to meet her last week and she’s really a sweet person. So, if you’re reading this Cristin, here’s why I gave it 4 instead of 5. First, and this may just be me but, the guy on the cover didn’t match Locke’s description. Yeah, he’s hot alright! But in the book he’s described as a blonde and the cover model isn’t blonde. And second, the first few chapters felt really choppy to me. It didn’t flow as well as the other books have. Now, this certainly is NOT my story to tell but I felt like the prologue would have better served the story if the war scene had either been the prologue or been added to it. It was really hard, in the beginning, to understand why Locke hated as deeply as he did. It slowly comes out as the story progresses, but it was a bit of a stumbling block for me, personally, in the first few chapters.
I learned a lot at RT17 last week so I’ll be putting that new knowledge to work more in my reviews from now on. Maybe that’s a good thing, maybe not. We’ll see.
With that said, I still highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romance, especially military romance. And as always, I really am looking forward to the next Delta and Titan books!
