NICUnurs96’s Review of Cristin Harber’s ONLY series
To begin, I have to be sure you know that I have loved reading Cristin’s Titan series and this is a spin off of that series. This is a set of 4 novella’s that follow Grayson and Emma from their high school friendship/romance through their young adult/new adult years and beyond.
Only for Him starts in their high school years. They are best friends and she’s totally got the hots for him but is terrified to change their relationship by admitting that to him. He’s hiding a horrible home life and this leads to all of their problems later on.
Only for Her brings us to Grayson’s time in the service and what brings him back home. It also introduces us to the big surprise Emma drops on him. Here we see what Emma has had to do to keep herself afloat while Grayson was MIA. And how it fractured Grayson’s relationship with her brother, as well as her entire family.
Only for Us brings Grayson face to face with his daughter. He’s working to make this relationship with Emma, well, work. And how to be a dad to his daughter. He’s making reparations with all his relationships, except, of course, his dad. And even there, there’s a twist. This is the book where he hooks up with the Titan Group.
Only Forever brings us to the revelation of Emma’s other big secret. And the resolution of all the angst, secrets and subterfuge. This novella has the majority of the story about how Grayson becomes a part of Titan Group.
If you haven’t read any Titan novels, you can still read these and it doesn’t distract from the story. But these 4 must be read in order. They are quick, easy reads with a lot of angst (remember their story starts out in their teens!), intrigue and romance. If you don’t like strong, independent characters, these books are not for you. Emma is a bit of a mix of strong, independent woman and vulnerable at the same time. Grayson…. Well… in the beginning you’ll want to smack him for being a bit stupid. But eventually you see him mature and then he’s all alpha.
As with all of her other novels, these are well written. The character development happens over all 4 books and is a little more in depth than some other Titan books and I really liked that. All in all I give this series 5 out of 5 propellers and look forward to what she has in store for us all next!
