3 of 4 Propellers – Whole Series Review:
This is an easy read. It is listed as a Young Adult series, just be warned there is some sex in books 2 and 3. It took me about 4-6 hours per book depending on how focused I was. This series is multi faceted with story lines about the two characters Kyra and Sebastion, the Reapers, the Dragons, and the Carnival and its’ crazy inhabitants. It would be nice to see the series extend past Kyra and Sebastion’s story so we could learn more about the other story lines.
I loved the whole series, but each book left a little out for me. The whole series, although called the Age of the Hybrid, is centered around the Mystic’s Carnival. Debra has a way of making the carnival come to life like nothing I’ve read. She makes an inanimate object have purpose, feelings, and loyalty. That is the best part of the whole series and I can’t wait to read more about the Mystic’s Carnival. Check out the website at: http://www.mysticscarnival.com/
2 of 4 Propellers-The Moorigad Dragon

Review: For a series beginning this one was tough. I liked her level of detail and liked the story line, however there were several places where she rambled about the same thing over and over again and there wasn’t a lot of coherent thought. I know this one is about Kyra finding out who she is and being confused between her two factions, but the incoherent rambling was a little too much. I did finish the book and because I was so enthralled with the story, I went onto the next one.
4 of 4 Propellers – Reap Not the Dragon
Book Description: A Reaper with a mission.
Sebastian is finished following commands. Higher powers be damned. He has his own agenda – find Kyra and help restore her memory.
At first his plan goes better than expected. But as life starts looking up for the would-be Reaper, his metaphorical sickle becomes caught in a web of complications.
Things are never smooth for Sebastian and Kyra.
Best-laid plans sometimes rest in peace.
A detour―unexpected and unwelcome―delivers Sebastian into the depths of a grave situation. Misfortune and misunderstanding are the cards dealt to him. And events fail to flip in his favor.
Creatures from hell all want a piece of the young Reaper. If Sebastian ends up dead, that’s okay. For he has a more grievous beast to worry about. To save the woman he loves, Sebastian will venture into the heart of an all-powerful fire demon.
Sebastian must find a missing dragon and the key to Kyra’s memory without being devoured by sinister beasts or―even worse―consumed by his own inner demons.
Review:
This one was a lot more coherent and the story plot got better. There were several new characters involved in the story and the level of detail was very good. There were a couple of sex scenes in this one, but they were soft. I appreciated Kyra’s struggle with her brain washing and her inner fight to be free of the it was very well written. Wish the first one had been that good. Sebastion’s character gains depth and we learn his secrets in this one which give a good twist to the love story. I wish there was a little more description of the other entities in the contest for power so we know their back story better when it came to book three. I really enjoyed this one and I think I read it over a couple of days. It really draws the reader in.
3 of 4 Propellers – Plight of the Dragon
Book Description: “…a marvelous coming of age tale featuring Sebastian and Kyra, two ‘hybrids’ whose search for their identity requires courage, sacrifice, and a questor’s tenacity. …a marvelous read, and it’s most highly recommended.” ~ Jack Magnus for Reader’s Favorite (starred review)
Kyra and Sebastian have again reunited, but their future remains as foggy as the mist around Mystic’s Carnival―uncertain and unpredictable. Fractured and torn, Kyra must restore her dragon-shifter state before her body rejects its divided status.
Mystic’s magic is on Kyra’s side, but the true key to her salvation lies within Sebastian, and for Kyra, he would do anything. Or so he believes. Can he give her up in order to save her? With his father’s crew of Reapers advancing on the carnival, the choice may not be Sebastian’s to make.
Review:
For a final book in Sebastion and Kyra’s love story this one gives the semi happy ending we desire. There are a few twists to get there, but it does. This is the one that Mystic’s Carnival really comes to life and we see the personality and abilities of her. She mesmerizes the reader almost as much as Kyra in her full glory with her 2 halves merged together. Be ready for some stunningly beautiful scenes in the carnival and of the Dragons in flight. This book moves very fast through the last part of their story, maybe a little too fast, which makes you yearn for a little more when it is over. The backstories of the other power hungry entities are a little short on details. Perhaps she is planning to give them all their own place at Mystic’s Carnival. That would be great to see. But until then, enjoy the series. The plot and characters will make you desire more from Mystic’s Carnial and Debra Kristi.
