Fly Girl’s Review: Quick 4-6 hour read. Be prepared to get caught up.
Propeller Rating: 4 of 4
I simply couldn’t wait to pick up this book and read it. I think I binge read it in a couple of days. The best part is if you read the first one, this is just as good…perhaps even better. To be able to pick this one up, you have to read book one Into the Light or you won’t understand the story line. There were a few twists and turns in book 1, but book 2 has at least twice that many. There were points where I said, “Didn’t see that coming.” So be prepared.
Aleatha takes the romantic relationship to a new level with the Sara and Jacob and gives us the full backstory for both. She also fills in many gaps and develops characters that were more minor in nature in the first book. The way she weaves the different characters together and keeps the story moving, she had to have outlined the story from start to finish. I just can’t see this being put together on the fly. Her organization of when the story moves forward and when you have a lull (to take a reading break) is pretty sharp.
I love her details of the scene and her facial expression descriptions are right on. It’s as if you are in the scene. She also gives a great chapter delineation by character, but seemlessly switches between the characters and doesn’t back track in the story. How she does that is beyond me. In book 1 she was good, but in book 2 she is great. We also get more fo the Cult story and how the mind control is managed. It is an interesting concept she writes, but it’s believable. When haven’t you just wanted to give up all control and worry to someone else. How simple life would be.
So I have to say, I’ve loved this series from the start and can’t wait to read book 3. Oooh Yah,…there’s a book three. That’s all the spoiler I’m going to give you.
