Welcome K.M. Cox
I am twenty-eight years old and I work as a Human Resource assistant at a medical center. I live in New York with my husband and our two dogs. I am also a New Adult author. Though I am new to the New Adult genre, I’ve been writing professionally for about eight years.
I started my writing career writing in the Young Adult genre. Back then, the YA genre was the most interesting and most relatable genre for me since I was just leaving my own adolescence. However, as I grow as a person and a writer, I find that the Young Adult genre has become restricting. Thus, I am dipping my toes into the new world of New Adult. It’s a new adventure that I am excited to begin.
Here are 10 fun facts about me:
1. My real name is Melissa
2. I am a ‘mother’ to two adorable fur babies, Tootsie and Femi. Tootsie is a silky terroir while Femi is a shitzu-maltese mix
3. I wrote my first novel when I was seventeen
4. I used to write Young Adult fiction
5. I hate odd numbers
6. I’m only 4’10”
7. I just recently outgrew clothes I wore in middle school/high school
8. I live in a house that looks like a Gingerbread House
9. I have over 2,000 books in my possession (1,800 of them I actually read!)
10. I have had 28 surgeries altogether, 16 of them before I turned 12

Publication Date: June 28, 2016
After falling for a trap of her own, Emory is faced with an unspeakable choice: Turn on her family for something she didn’t think they did or get arrested and screw up her own life. But Caleb insists that he’s correct and that she’s wrapped up in something horrible.
Emory still doesn’t believe him. But soon Emory is having dreams about the mother she barely remembered. Dreams are dreams, though, right? Emory doesn’t believe they mean anything…until her dead mother appears before her, very much alive, her long lost sister in tow. In that instant, Emory’s whole world is turned upside down. Everything she once knew was gone and replaced with an assault of questions.
Who was she? What type of family did she really have? And were her targets actually innocent?
