unnamedGet acquainted with K.L. Silver

T:  Good Evening K.L. thanks for joining me this evening. I hope the coffee is strong enough?

I love coffee! Begin and end every day with it. If you could add a shot…

T: I promise for this set of questions I’m going to keep things fun and light (well light for me) so let’s get started.

T: Left handed Libra?

LOL! You’ve done your homework, I see. Yes, a left-handed Libra AND an empath! Don’t even ask. Lol Enough to say I’m on a day pass! 😉

T: How did you get your hands on The Story of O?

Sssshhh…don’t tell my mom, but, I found it under her pillow when I laid down on her bed to have a nap. Let’s just say I quickly forgot about the nap. Thinking back, my mama was a bad, bad girl!

T: What made you decide to focus on Dom/Sub relationships in your writing?

It’s the one that speaks to my ‘nature’, if you will.  I’m not a raging, frothing feminist.  That’s not to say that I don’t believe in equal pay and equal rights.  I do. But, that’s as far as it goes.  I celebrate the differences between the sexes and I revel in being female.

T: Why did you want to bring light to the psychology behind The Lifestyle?

I don’t feel we understand the motivation(s) behind those that choose to live a Dom/sub lifestyle.  The subject is rarely, if ever, broached – other than ‘educational’ material – and even then, it tends to focus on the physicality.  The psychology is equally as important – and as sexy – if not more so.  The ‘Lifestyle’ is harshly judged.

Understanding breeds acceptance…

T: What was training for the Olympics like?

Tough as hell! LOL

If I might quote from FALLEN:   “Describing the environment as a pressure cooker was putting it mildly.  The laws of the jungle prevailed, survival of the fittest the name of the game.  Tension and expectation hung heavy in the air, as did the pungent body odor associated with extreme physical and mental exertion.”

Now ya know…J

T: Who or what got you interested in writing?

I was born loving to read and write.  I adored those dumbass novels the other kids were forced to read for English class.  Loved to write essays.  I’m also highly opinionated and globally curious. lol.

I blogged for years about US politics, world affairs, s-e-x, human psychology…

You get the idea.

T: What intrigued you about the 2012 election that made you cover it?

US elections and politics intrigue the hell out of me, just ask my Canadian friends & family! Lol

Having lived there for two years between the ages of 14 and 16, I guess I feel a deep kinship.

I see the entire American election process as a 2-year, 2-party, 3-ring circus – a very twisted and dangerous 3-ring circus.  Being an Empath, I know things I shouldn’t, ‘feel’ things I don’t necessarily want to ‘feel’.

My advice for THIS election?  I realize we’re fed up to HERE with politics and politicians.  I detest them too.  BUT…that does NOT mean you vote for the first clown out of the Volkswagen!!!

Beware so-called outsiders with yellow hair and forked tongue…

T: Did you always want to be a novelist or did you originally want to be a journalist?

What with having to earn a living and feed the kiddies, I didn’t start writing until 2010. I never considered being a journalist, but I can tell you this – I’D BE BIASED! LOL

Hey…at least I’m honest! J

T: How often do you practice yoga?

I GO to the studio once or twice a week.  But, to me, practicing yoga is not only physical.  It’s a daily effort to become a better me, to learn to accept that which I cannot change – and to be grateful for what I have.

T: What type of dog is Tiger?

Tiger passed on September 30, 2014, a year and a half ago.  As a human society puppy – we rescued each other.  It was a monogamous relationship from that day on.  Half black lab and half Doberman, she weighed 20 pounds less than me.  We spooned every night, were never separated.

I haven’t been able to think about replacing her.

Maybe soon…

T: How do yoga, writing & Tiger keep you sane?

Have you met my children? Nuff said!

Bahaha!

T: What do your kids think of your writing?

They were NOT impressed with MASTERED’s genre (understatement).  Now, however, they’re pretty proud of their old mom!

T: What comes next?

RELAXATION!  I’ve spent the last six months writing, rewriting, editing, formatting, publishing and marketing FALLEN – a psycho-sexual thriller/erotic romance that was just released on June 20th (2016). (hint, hint)

I’m zausted! J I’ll begin a new novel in September.

T: Well K.L. that’s all I have for you today? Until next time thanks again for joining me, now get back to work and write your next book.

LOL!  Yes Ma’am!  Thanks for the interrogation.  I very much enjoyed it! (Giggle)

And now for a special sneak peek into Gia & Ash from Fallen

Gia

  1. Tell us a little about yourself. Who are you and what role do you play within Fallen?

Buon giorno!  I am Gianna, Gianna Ricci, Zoey’s best friend and roommate.  I moved here from Sicily when I was fourteen.  That’s when I met Zoey.  Back then, we shared a dorm room.  We were both training seven hours a day for the Olympics.

  1. What is the challenge you are trying to overcome in the novel?

I’m ashamed to admit it, but, just between us?  I have an eating disorder.  Bulimia is gymnastics dirty little secret.  You might say it’s the VERY skinny elephant in the room.  It almost killed me once.  These days, I have it under control.  For the most part, anyways…

  1. What are three character traits that describe you best?

Mama mia, let me think.  I know Zoey would say impetuous, and she’d be right – although I prefer to think of it as spontaneous.  I’ve been known to jump in where, perhaps, I should have waded.  Also, I might be a wee bit boy crazy, no doubt that hot Sicilian blood, si?

But, first and foremost, I’d say the trait that describes me best is loyalty.  I’d fight like a riled mama bear for the people I love.  Death before disloyalty, that’s what I say!

  1. What is the one thing you want most and how far are you willing to go to get it?

Ultimately, I guess I want what every girl wants:  Love, stability, happily ever after.  Remember, I left home and country at a very young age.  At twenty-seventy, it feels like I’ve been on my own for a lifetime.  What’s ironic is that I’m unerringly attracted to married bad boys…

  1. Readers love secrets. Do you have secret that you’re willing to share?

Mon dio!  I ask you, what self-respecting woman doesn’t have a secret or two?  Right now, I’m keeping a secret from my best friend, something I’ve never done before.  As far as sharing goes?  I’m afraid you’ll just have to wait and find out – just like Zoey.

But, right now, I need to get ready for a very special date…

Ash

  1. Tell us a little about yourself. Who are you and what role do you play within Fallen?

My name is Ash Harrington.  I bought the National Gymnastics Training Center when it was on the verge of collapse.  My thirteen year old daughter, Cherish, trains there.  She’s vying for a spot on the National team.  Mercedes, the ex, doesn’t ‘allow’ me to see much of her.   Buying the gym was a two-fer, although I didn’t know it at the time.

It’s also where I met Zoey…

  1. What is the challenge you are trying to overcome in the novel?

Listen, if your ex-wife beat the crap out of your for what she called ‘deviant and sick’ sexual proclivities – you’d have ‘challenges’ too.  She married a boy and wound up with a man – that’s all I can tell you at this point…

  1. What are three character traits that describe you best?

Depends who you ask, I would guess. Lol

Since you’re asking me, I’d have to say the three ‘D’s’:  Disciplined, Dependable – and Dominant.

  1. What is the one thing you want most and how far are you willing to go to get it?

It’s not a ‘what’.  It’s a WHO…

  1. Readers love secrets. Do you have a secret that you’re willing to share?

Well, this isn’t something I go around telling folks, but – there’s a fragrance named after me.  Two in fact:  ‘HARRINGTON’ and ‘HARRINGTON GOLD’.

The secret I won’t share is WHY…
