I hope you guys had a great holiday weekend and week following. Mine was busy, I actually went out to visit with friends twice this week, surprisingly. It was needed last night I finished edits from the editor I’m working with. Now I have four more versions to work on, we’re testing out POV’s to make sure I’ve picked the right one. We’re doing this because Legacy has two character POV’s that we see, one main one and than one that shows up in a handful of chapters. So we need to make sure everything flows for the readers and not just in my mind. And lets face it my mind when writing may not be the best judge. I mean I do like dark things and tend to write about them. 😉
I’ll be honest since the last time I posted it’s been crazy. I lost my ipod, well lost is the wrong word, it’s dead. I was running the other night and it started raining and as you’ve probably guessed it got wet and died. So I had to go get something I could run with and move songs and audiobooks around. I must say it really sucks that you can’t take music off you’re ipod and put it in a folder for another device, it would make knowing what’s on one much simpler. Now I have a nano for running instead of my 80 gig and my touch has my writing music and books. Putting that together has taken time away from editing though which sucks. But its don’t know so that’s good.
I also helped a friend out last weekend by reading her latest edits, and I must say I loved what she has so far. I can’t wait to see what comes next and I think you guys will love it too.
Two cool thing happened this week one is that Flyboy sent me some beautiful flowers, a mix of calla lilies and red roses. It got my mind out of the dark depths of my writing, and I can’t stop smelling them or looking over at them. I’ll post pictures later. The second is that I got a job back in a legal office, it’s part-time so I’ll still be able to write every day. I want to do a happy dance.
I started a new series, at least listening to it. Rachel Caine‘s Morganville Vampires Series. You guys should check it out if you haven’t done so yet. It has something like twelve books out so I’m a little late to the party. When my friends and follow PBD (Dolls) talked about it I was a little sick of vampires after reading Charlaine Harris‘s Sookie Stackhouse. Granted I haven’t read any of those since book 9 or 10 I can’t remember which, the one that came out in 2009 I think though it could have been 2008. Anyway audible was having a sale so I checked a few books out and I’m hooked, go figure. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that all the series I read have already come out so there’s nothing new to read. Plus I really like the narrator, Cynthia Holloway, I like her as Merit in Chicagoland Vampires and she works for this too. Rachel Caine has been making me laugh in her Morganville Vampires series, in fact I’ve laughed out loud a few times, even when running. So check it out.
Alright guys I need to get to work, the life of a writer never stops and if this is ever going to work I have to get those edits done.
Have a great Sunday night see you soon.
