Yesterday, I picked up the latest The Writer magazine, and as I’ve been reading through it, I’ve found that they are suggesting that writers use Soundcloud, podcast or webcast to get their names out there. I can’t say I haven’t thought about it, I have, but finding the right outlet is the problem/issue. How do you know what to look for? How do you know which one would be better? What works the best for authors? These are just a few questions I have.

I find that I’m interested in these programs because I’m not sure my phone’s voice recorder is going to do what I want/need it to do in the long run. Plus it would be wicked cool to give people a taste of what sections of my stories sound like, or even some poems. So I’m confused as to what I should do. They seem like helpful tools, but how do you know for sure. Yes they have trial periods so you can test them out, but how do you choose?

Have any of you used Soundcloud, or a good pod/web cast? If you have information please share.
