A beautiful day in the neighborhood

Today like yesterday is gorgeous. The only problem the back of my head hurts. I think it might be my sinuses, I say this because Flyboy has had me take over the counter migraine and sinus meds and the headache goes away with both. Then I start sneezing and get a running nose. Whatever is going on its driving me nuts. I’m trying to work but can’t concentrate on what I need to do.I’ve looked at one sentence five times and I know it needs work but the changes aren’t flowing like they normally do. It’s not writers block I’ve changed a few things surrounding the sentence I’m working with I just can fix this one. The harder I think about it the more the back on my head hurts and then I don’t want to work at all, it really sucks.

On another note Flyboy is out visiting our family on the West Coast, and I keep getting pictures of the nieces and nephew that are out there. I really miss them. Flyboy’s brother is getting married to a wickedly awesome chick. I say this because she treats our nephew, her soon to be step-son, as her own. Having come from a broken home, and getting two step-parents in the process, I know how lucky my nephew is to have a step-parent that loves them and treats them as their own. I was luck both of my step-parents treated me as their children too. Many kids don’t get that. So I want to say to my new outlaw, (that’s what those of us who have married into Flyboy’s family call ourselves) welcome to the club/family.

As for the rest of you, I hope you have a wonderful day, and get to spend it with those you love.

With Flyboy & my anniversary tomorrow, I decided to get creative & crafty today. This was a lot of fun and I did switch things up a few times. By the end I used all the letters with Flyboy’s help. Now that we are back from our Texas trip, I’ll start writing on the blogs, book reviews, article and edits. I had thought I’d get work done while we were home but that didn’t happen. We got home late Thursday early Friday. Friday was filled with military things and whatnot. Today was our breather from a cram packed week.

Facebook & what people should post

First off my house is empty again, my mom has returned home, after three days of shopping. Yes three days, and I don’t like to shop. We had fun, and we got christmas taken care of. Woo hoo, now if I was only finished shopping. But that’s another story.

Tonight I’m actually blogging one becuase I haven’t in three day, but more importantly becauas of people on facebook. I’m upset really for my, she had to find out about her brother passing today, on facebook. That is so not cool. Hell I found out though a family email, and thought that wasn’t cool. Mind you the email wasn’t sent from any of my cousins it was sent from a family member that does our family newsletter. I understand that my mom and some of her siblings didn’t keep in touch, my mom was from my grandpa’s second wife, he married grandma after his first wife passed, but still he was her brother. Mom should have gotten notified by someone either by phone or personal email, before it went out to everyone in the newsletter or facebook. This isn’t the first time this has happened, when one oc her sisters passed we found out the same way. For my mom’s other sister facebook is how we learn she’s in the hospital. Family doesn’t need to learn about death or hospitalization from facebook or newsletter emails. Siblings should be told before extended family and friends, it doesn’t matter if they haven’t seen or spoken to one another, it’s rude otherwise.

Okay that’s my rant, sorry. Hope everyone has had a wickedly awesome week so far.

Happy Birthday Mom

I didn’t get to start my book review yet, I plan on starting it tonight. Flyboy and I had a full afternoon, of looking at cars. I had an interview and since we only have one car we’re looking for another.

Today is also my mom’s birthday. So happy birthday mom, I love you and I think you for everything you’ve done for me.

Empty House

Our second set of family visitors has left and we’re waiting on the next. My Mom will be coming out in a few days. I can’t wait.

I’ve started reading my new book, but didn’t get far, because I got a new cell phone today. So I’ve been playing with my phone instead of reading. I know slacker, but tonight I’ll read some more. It’s not bad so far and I think I’ll enjoy the book. I’ll keep you posted.

Family part 2

So I’m still slacking on my post this week, and I’m sorry for that. My step-mom & step-brother visited for about four days. They arrived Thursday and left Sunday night, so we had a fairly long visit and some fun, too. We saw the Morris Island Lighthouse, checked out Halls Chophouse, Hominy Grill and of course went to Meeting Street (shopping). We piled a lot in during their stay. Monday I had a headache, again. My mother in law arrived Monday night and now we get to start all over again.

I’m about to start working on a quilt for Flyboy and also my step-mom. They are going to be T-shirt quilts, but I’ve never worked a sewing machine or quilted before, so this should be interesting. Hopefully I do an okay job. ;-)

With so much time being spent with family, I haven’t written, edited or done anything remotely close my writing. Flyboy was suppose to read Legacy while he was on his last trip, but he hasn’t said anything about it yet. Hopefully he had time.

Other news, Thankful week is still going on over at PBD, and my article will be up this week, so stop be check mine out and also we what the Dolls are thankful for. They had a few authors lined up for Thankful week as well and their post are pretty interesting, so stop by and get to know the Dolls and maybe some authors you haven’t read.
