Is the year over yet

Sorry its been a few weeks since my last post. Its been nuts around here. Flyboy came home the first weekend in Nov from his four month deployment. A week after Flyboy’s arrival we headed up to Gatlinburg for a relaxing long weekend. I’ll post so picks this week.

As for my writing I had to work on 50 pages for the editor I’m working with and the night before Flyboy arrived I finished those pages. I started working on the next chapter on the drive up and back. I just finished those last night so I now have to type them in. I’m not liking all the trees I’m killing but I am finding where changes need to be made for the new POV change.

I hope you guys have been having great weekends.

At last my Air Force t-shirt scarf is complete. I worked on it all day today and now my fingers hurt. Since my sewing machine isn’t threading right, I sewed my scarf by hand. If I knew where my thumble was only one finger would be in pain but over the last two weeks I’ve lost it, and after working on the scarf I think I’ll need two when I start on the quilt. Three more weeks and I may be able to get help with my machine, until then its by hand since I can’t lift anything over 15lbs right now.

Down the Rabbit Hole

These passed few weeks I feel like I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole. We have so many things going on its not even funny.

To start with Flyboy has secret squirrel military stuff going on, it’s not really secret squirrel but I’m not allowed to talk about what’s going on so I’m calling it secret squirrel. His stuff is stressful but when it’s done the stress will move on. On top of his secret squirrel stuff we are fostering a pup from his mom. She’s the sweetest pup around. She just needs more attention then we can provide. She wants all the attention possible and since we have Holly, Jax and Isaac we can’t give her all of our attention. She also isn’t doing so well with Isaac. Considering Isaac is eight years old he doesn’t like having new “monsters” in the house, and Portia gets aggressive when he raises his hackles. Needless to say we’ve had some excitement around here. Don’t you just love life?

As I’m sure you can imagine writing anything has been difficult. I need to write my article for PBD this month and my book review of Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. I’m now listening to Chloe Niell’s Chicagoland Vampire series, I’m on book one but I need to finish the series before the new releases come out in July and August. As I’ve said before the new Deborah Harkness comes out in July and so does Kitty. Chloe’s new one comes out in August, thankfully I’ve already read all the books I’m just relistening to them so I have everything fresh in my head.

I’m hopeful that I’ll be climbing out of this rabbit hole shortly, it’s not as fun as Alice’s rabbit hole. I think I’d rather fall down her’s, wonderland seems like it would be great right now.

Lions, and tigers and bears OMy

It’s me once again, and finally right. It’s been crazy lately. Today I’m going to share a little news and talk about other things as well. Bare with me I have so much going on in my tinny head I’m not sure what to do with it all. ;)

The news – a few weeks back I got an email from an editor who saw a pitch I had posted to a different editor. (I know this is a crazy road) She really liked the line “a house’s thirst for blood” it reminded her of a book she loved by Stephen King called Rose Red she and I have been talking back and fourth. No contract but I’m hopeful. I hope she likes it enough to give me some feedback. I’d love to know if she likes the style, characters, plot, etc. My fingers are crossed that I’ll hear something soon.

As I said earlier I have so much going on in my head I haven’t been able to write. Every time I want to put something to paper it flies away – which is aggravating. So I’m trying to put ideas or edits down as fast as I can. I’ve been dreaming too lately but the dreams aren’t fitting into stories at the moment which may have something to do with the clutter in my head. I feel like Alexis in Legacy she has way too much to think about. Three of the things going on in my head are 1. the anniversary of my father’s death which occurred last year, 2. Flyboy and my anniversary of eight years (which is the same day my father passed on) 3. Flyboy leaving for four months.

Flyboy doing on “vacation” for four months is a good and bad thing, it’s good because I should get a lot of writing done, but I’m be worried about him too so it’s a double edge sword. As far as the other issues are concerned I just have to get through next weekend.

On another note I finished listening to all Carrie Vaughn’s Kitty Norville series and I’m ready for the next book. I’ve taken a break from the list I was listening to Chloe Neil and Deborah Harkness to listen to Abraham Lincoln Vamper Hunter. When I finish the book I’ll write a review.

I have gathered some info for the other blogs so I’ll start working on those shortly.

Have a wickedly awesome Memorial Day weekend.

Around, and around we go

I know I haven’t been blogging for a few days. I’ve been working on gathering information for the new blogs and editing. I’ve also had ideas come to be in my dreams for stories. I life is just getting away from me and you’d think with school ending I’d have more time, and maybe that’s my issue. I have too much time on my hands that I can’t get anything done. That and I’ve been trying to listen to my favorite series that have new releases this summer. I’m starting the last Kitty Norville book tonight, Carrie Vaughn‘s new one comes out at the end of July. Next I’ll re-listen to Discovery of Witches since the next one comes out at the beginning of July. Than I have to listen to all of Chloe Neil’s Chicagoland Vampires books with the new book being released in August.  I also have a couple new books I want to listen too. The books help me get the creative juices flowing but they also make it difficult to write since I don’t want to stop listening.

I’m working on gathering pictures and info for Wicked Relaxation and Life in Military Flight. It’s a pain it the butt but I hope to have some things posted in the next few days so be on the look out.

Subbed today

I was a sub for 6th grade Eng. I had fun but wore the wrong shoes. During my free time I did write.
